Last Swim-Fall is here

We had a great Sunday!

the farmers have got the cotton harvested!

after church, we had grilled cheeses. I LOVE A GOOD GRILLED CHEESE on Sunday!

We planted lots of pansies. They are so sweet

a few Old Maids left.......

I fried up the last of our green "maters" to go with supper.
I was raised on fried squash, fried green maters, pinto beans and cornbread, biscuits and gravy, green onions, good strong coffee, crispy fried pork chops, corn on the cob, wild honey, My Grandmas made fluffy coconut cake and homemade chocolate and butterscotch pies-those were a real treat.
We filled our Christmas Child boxes:
It was so much fun!
jump ropes, sunglasses, jingle jangles, beads and bracelets

Hairbrushes and toothbrushes, little reindeer with light up noses that sing songs

crayons, books, markers, slinkies---it was fun to shop for!

What a blessing to send these greetings to children far far away.

they are due to be turned in this week, so I am glad we finally got them packed.

Do any of y'all do Christmas Child boxes?

Last swim of the Summer

Fall has finally arrived. Yay!

Before the frost last week, Tansy wanted one last swim. LOL

Time for the last swim of summer. Tansy was the only one brave enough to put on a bathing suit! LOL. Tracie and Amybelle have changed into their Fall outfits.

Here's some of our Mums. We had two different colors this year.

And here it is Friday again, and I'm just now posting from Sunday! Our week has been busy with chores and appointments and getting organized for Thanksgiving, deciding the Thanksgiving menu, and shopping the grocery for it.

I hope you've had a great week and that y'all are enjoying this Holiday season, which has begun. So much to look forward to.

Happy Hour root beer

 Happy Hour time!

Hope you'll walk with us in the garden!

This male cardinal is singing his loud song for us

Lets go feed the ladies:

Big news a few days earlier  this week!    Baby Rose finally laid her very first egg!

"I'm a big girl now!"
Great job, Rose, Mommy is so proud of you!! LOL

We still have lots in bloom here:

my white lilies

four o clocks and bright marigolds holding on....

And still a few "maters", which will be ready and picked soon. I will fry these up this weekend.
We planted two butterfly bushes this summer and both are doing great and still blooming

and the Cannas we planted at the beginning of spring, I had so hoped they would grow FAST, and bloom this summer. They are now big and finally about 3 weeks ago, I got my first blooms! yay!

and still a few  Old Maids in full bloom. I'm still picking bouquets every other day to bring inside.
Roses still blooming too:

the mandevilla is pretty much done. I'm still trying to coax one more bloom out of it before winter, but not sure that's going to happen. LOL

Is anyone reading anything good? Remember I said a week or so back....I was finishing up the Belva Plain series. Turns out-----there WAS ONE more in the series! I was truly surprised. It was called "Heartwood" and I finished it. NOW I think I am done with the series, ha ha LOL.

Root beer is so good, I love it. Especially this Vanilla kind.

Happy Hour Orange is here:

Happy Hour Blue is here:
(its about the third post down)

So, which flavor would you like? Blue, orange, or root beer?

So hope you enjoyed Happy Hour with us today! Hope you've had a happy week.
