city sidewalks

Charleston has decked her halls.......and lit up her city sidewalks for the Christmas holiday!

newlyweds!

and there they go........off to their future.......

"Silver bells, silver bells
it's Christmastime in the city.
Ring a ling, hear them ring,
soon it will be Christmas day!
City sidewalks, busy sidewalks,
dressed in holiday style,
in the air there's the feeling of Christmas."
...Bing Crosby, 1950s

almost  yellow!---almost ready.....

Glowing Christmas trees and festive holiday wreaths can be seen in windows and on doors

pretty pretty snowflakes!

I love this Christmas card we received!

tree lighting!

It was a clear and warm night for the annual Charleston Tree Lighting ceremony:

and there was something new this year---a pineapple!

Afterwards we strolled around the city and admired and enjoyed all the festive touches, the flowers, and the Christmas trees and lights.

I love the beautiful old stained glass in the church windows

the church bells:

This hotel was decorated beautifully and the door guards bid us to "come on in"......so we did!

Green swags drape and swirl and swoop up and down big staircases

"there's a tree in the Grand Hotel, one in the park as well, it's the sturdy kind that doesn't mind the snow....." sung by Bing Crosby 1951

I loved the wall murals!

the lit tree in the middle of Rutledge Pond is now lit up too and so bright and pretty!

I love how it reflects in the water

and on another December night--- the annual Boat Parade is always fun to go see!

Most of my pictures turned out looking like this: LOL

It was a warm and balmy evening and the strong winds were bout to blow my hat off, and my coat open and my scarf AWAY! ha ha LOL

Every year since she was born, I've always gave Fairy Granddaughter a Christmas ornament. Well, over the years, that has turned into not one ornament, but a "FEW" ornaments, haha LOL! This year's group is a Santa that plays music, a pink sparkly whale, an iridescent winged horse, and a white unicorn.

Our daughter loves mermaids just like I do....so when I saw the mermaid ornaments, I got her one and got myself one as well! LOL

Christmas Eve has arrived! I hope you have a safe, happy, peaceful one!
