Rainbow Ribbons

I came upon this post that never got posted! I think it was from sometime last spring! LOL I'm going to go ahead and post it because I think the dancing ribbons are so pretty!

Recently we came upon dozens of multi-color ribbons in one of the trees at the Rutledge pond.

They were there to advertise a Charleston parks up-coming 10th anniversary event. They were so pretty and so festive!

I just couldn't resist taking a few twirls amongst the fluttering ribbons!

Rainbow ribbons dancing in the sunny park......yes, it was a happy sight!

Spring Evening

Out and about for a walk.......bet Debbie and Diane will love this PURPLE house! I do!

It's a pretty pretty day....not too sweltering hot and not too cold
going for a walk and hope you'll join me?

Peeking into the old courtyard!

Lots of people out with their dogs:

.......and kids enjoying their Prom night.
Spring is so wonderful!

Fairy Garden

THERE are fairies at the bottom of our garden!
It's not so very, very far away;
You pass the gardener's shed and you just keep straight ahead --
I do so hope they've really come to stay!

There's a little wood, with moss in it and beetles,
And a little stream that quietly runs through;
You wouldn't think they'd dare to come merrymaking there--
      Well, they do.

There are fairies at the bottom of our garden!
They often have a dance on summer nights;

The butterflies and bees make a lovely little breeze,
And the rabbits stand about and hold the lights.

Did you know that they could sit upon the moonbeams
And pick a little star to make a fan,
And dance away up there in the middle of the air?
      Well, they can.

There are fairies at the bottom of our garden!
You cannot think how beautiful they are;

(Fairies danced here, LOTS OF MUSHROOMS!)

............back to the poem....................

They all stand up and sing when the Fairy Queen and King
Come gently floating down upon their car.

The King is very proud and very handsome;
The Queen--now you can quess who that could be
(She's a little girl all day, but at night she steals away)?
      Well -- it's Me!
.........Rose Fyleman
Oh, how I loved this poem when I was a child!

Rose was an English writer born in 1877 in Nottingham, England.

Who else loves fairy gardens? Anyone?
