Rainy Fall Day

It was a wet and rainy Sunday in Charleston........

but after church and before the rain started, we enjoyed a beach day! Goodness gracious, the wind was blowing something fierce!--and it was chilly enough to put on jackets.

the girls LOVE TO GO to the ocean! They get very frisky!

Looking for adventure!

this is not a new ring or anything, it's just the one I had on.....and I like to practice and take pictures of things like this!

I put their new pink scarves on them

the sand was blowing---look at Bindie with her eyes almost closed!! LOL

We had the whole beach to ourselves!

These people had a golf cart full of dogs! I think we counted four

Thrift shopping lately:

new red pocketbook--love love love it!!

this colorful and fun book for my "ma-maw library" of stories I read to granddaughter when she's here

I haven't read this one yet but it looks cute:

A fun straw summer purse of rainbow colors! Love it and can't wait to get it out when spring is back!

Love the beaded handle!

Also found this adorable version of the Little Mermaid which I had never seen before:

(oh and it's a TEENSY little book, maybe 5 inches tall)

I love books with big pretty pictures and lots of color!

Have you been thrift shopping lately? Any good finds?

Church with your Sunday hat on and everything! Love your thrift store treasures! How I would love living near the beach! You have such a sweet life - beach, dogs, walks and so much more!!!

i am so happy to see you on the beach, enjoying the day. do you ever find any glass??

i am not a thrift store shopper...i am not a "store" shopper, i do 99% of my shopping on-line!!!

i am not a big candy / chocolate person. if i had to pick a favorite, it would be a milky way!!

I love that you'll hang the ring to take a pic! And it's a cool pic. Nice books, too. I'm very sick of rain here... maybe it's better at the beach...

Not many people would think of going to the beach on a rainy day but then you are not like most people and look how much fun you had. I am trying to not shop but I do like to go to the thrift store when I do. We didn't hand out candy so none left over to eat up.

Yep, that is my favorite trick or treat candy too! I ended up giving my leftovers to my littlest grandson so I wouldn't eat them myself. Love those pink scarves on your girls!

Tonight's Micromoon--we watched it rise over the Battery tonight, it was red and orange

Skywatchers in Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones will get a view of the full moon tonight (Sept. 13) at 11:32 p.m., 10:32 p.m. and 9:32 p.m., respectively, while East Coasters will see the moon at its fullest at 12:32 a.m. on the 14th. Regardless of time zone, the moon will appear just a bit dimmer than usual (eerie!), because it will be at apogee, or its farthest distance from Earth. That means that the moon will appear about 14% smaller and 30% dimmer than when it is at its closest point to Earth, which is known as perigee. (Livescience.com)

LETS END KILLER WHALE CAPTIVITY!!

Please research the captive killer orcas that the SEAWORLD franchise holds captive. It is animal cruelty at it's worst. Those killer whales need to be FREE, NOT HELD CAPTIVE BY us humans and forced to do 'tricks' for our amusement. (and to make SEAWORLD a lot of money. ) Please go watch BLACKFISH when y'all have time okay? also read "Killer at Seaworld". You will learn so much and I doubt if you ever pay entrance fees to enter SEAWORLD or any of it's affiliate parks again.........because you will learn what the money really goes for........PROFIT. Their profit...........the poor whales gain nothing. But life captivity. Sad lonely lives in bathtub size enclosures where they cant even interact with their own pods and offspring normally. Many of them are so sick and die very painful deaths.The 'breeding' program is a joke. They are not even allowed to procreate in a natural and normal manner. The whales that were caught in the wild were taken from their pods and their mothers in a very cruel and inhumane fashion---it is heartbreaking. It's awful sad. Please research and then let me know what you think, okay? Whales are magnificent creatures, I love them. I tell everybody it's okay to love them and to want to go see them......but please go to areas where you can view them in the wild either from the beaches or cliffs or from boats. Not from cement swimming pools where they are mis-treated, gawked at, and forced to 'perform'. God created them and intended for them to exist in the seas! They really need to remain free........................
