fire in the sky

it was one of those fiery sunsets!

It's been so hot and humid here, until the past few days. I am welcoming the cooler breezes wholeheartedly!

I am so happy for sweater weather again!! And long sleeves! And scarves!

It was so brilliant, I couldn't stop looking at it!

we got to watch the Coast Guard practicing moves and rescues. They were dropping out ropes and things, and maybe divers jumping out?

always so interesting to watch them!

Here's some pretty blossoms I photographed a couple of days ago. The flowers seem to be enjoying the cool weather.

It’s chilly in Texas tonight! I’m in bed with the back door open reading until I get sleepy. I sleep best when it’s cold!

That sky is amazing, I would be staring at it too and your area like mine has a second spring come fall and the plants and flowers love it.

Beautiful shots you got!!.. I'm in SC too by Myrtle Beach and I am SO happy to wake up to the temps in the lower 40's.. I LIVE for the cooler weather.. Although next week we will have some days back in the upper 70's.. I hate this weather rollercoaster. I can't wait for it to just stay cooler and then cold.. Too bad it doesn't last long enough. By April you and I will be feeling the warmth again.....

WOW what gorgeous captures! Those flower boxes are incredible. I could never do anything like that. YES I am enjoying these cooler temperatures -- positively COLD today, haaaha -- and look forward to wearing my sweaters too. I am not looking forward to the early dark this weekend, though! Ugh! xoxo

Tonight's Micromoon--we watched it rise over the Battery tonight, it was red and orange

Skywatchers in Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones will get a view of the full moon tonight (Sept. 13) at 11:32 p.m., 10:32 p.m. and 9:32 p.m., respectively, while East Coasters will see the moon at its fullest at 12:32 a.m. on the 14th. Regardless of time zone, the moon will appear just a bit dimmer than usual (eerie!), because it will be at apogee, or its farthest distance from Earth. That means that the moon will appear about 14% smaller and 30% dimmer than when it is at its closest point to Earth, which is known as perigee. (Livescience.com)

LETS END KILLER WHALE CAPTIVITY!!

Please research the captive killer orcas that the SEAWORLD franchise holds captive. It is animal cruelty at it's worst. Those killer whales need to be FREE, NOT HELD CAPTIVE BY us humans and forced to do 'tricks' for our amusement. (and to make SEAWORLD a lot of money. ) Please go watch BLACKFISH when y'all have time okay? also read "Killer at Seaworld". You will learn so much and I doubt if you ever pay entrance fees to enter SEAWORLD or any of it's affiliate parks again.........because you will learn what the money really goes for........PROFIT. Their profit...........the poor whales gain nothing. But life captivity. Sad lonely lives in bathtub size enclosures where they cant even interact with their own pods and offspring normally. Many of them are so sick and die very painful deaths.The 'breeding' program is a joke. They are not even allowed to procreate in a natural and normal manner. The whales that were caught in the wild were taken from their pods and their mothers in a very cruel and inhumane fashion---it is heartbreaking. It's awful sad. Please research and then let me know what you think, okay? Whales are magnificent creatures, I love them. I tell everybody it's okay to love them and to want to go see them......but please go to areas where you can view them in the wild either from the beaches or cliffs or from boats. Not from cement swimming pools where they are mis-treated, gawked at, and forced to 'perform'. God created them and intended for them to exist in the seas! They really need to remain free........................
