Living in a "hot zone"

We are told that we are a hot spot now. And that we have over 1500-2200 confirmed new cases per day (with the most being right here in Charleston) and the numbers are rapidly increasing. We are also told that our county has the highest number of deaths.
"stay away from South Carolina--the locals are not taking the virus seriously  " wrote Kathleen Parker in her Opinion piece for the
Washington  Post a couple of days ago.

She also said that social distancing is a joke here.
How is it in your city or town?
 Does it look like ours?

  1. Debbi, I am sorry but this makes me crazy...I wish our little town would enforce wearing masks. Indiana had two day with big jumps in counts. Here I wear masks and see no one else wearing them if I am in the grocery and two more ladies are wearing them , I know darn good and well it's my sisters. The U.S.A. has opening too wide too soon. Please stay safe. Blessings, xoxo, Susie

  2. We must wear masks when outside and when going inside a store. A good part of the population goes along with this. We do have our fair amount of jerks, though, who are politically motivated instead of health motivated. We went thru a bad time in April and May, but got our numbers down with good leadership. We opened slowly (too slow for some) and have been completely opened since the beginning of July. Our numbers are going up, again, as expected, but my area is not. There has been an outbreak in the western part of the state and hopefully they will be able to hold those down. This is one of the greatest catastrophes our country has experienced and unless we all act for the common good, it won’t be over for a long, long time.

  4. That is so sad. You definitely have a city of nice looking people with the cutest clothes I've ever seen. But they are the age to not take this seriously. I haven't been to a city so I don't know what's going on here. Our numbers are WAY up in FL too! It's very scary! Take care and stay safe my friend.

  6. I don't know why these people, in your city, are so blasΓ©.

But for sure, they are giving the so-called-news, a free prompt, to scream about how this Wuhan Virus is not going to be conquered soon.

  7. We are old and do not go out so I can't say, how most people are behaving in my city. Yes, we could drive and take pics, as you did. But I do the driving and he is not handy with my little camera. -smile-

But where we have gone, people are wearing masks. To shop for groceries, and to have our hair cut, and to get Ice Cream Sundaes to eat outside, and etc..... Yes, people are wearing masks.

We are up North. Does this make any difference? Is your city so warm, all the time, that in summer, people just won't wear a face mask?

And notice all those young people!!!! They don't worry about getting it, since they will probably survive. But!!!!! They could "take it home" to Grandma, and to parents, and to a young relative, with a health problem.

    ~sigh~sigh~sigh~sigh~sigh~

  9. That infuriates me because I stay home all the time, maybe go out once a week but early in the morning. I wear my mask even when it is 110+ out. (I kid you not) That's why I mostly stay home. Too hot. I don't put on my mask until I reach the door of the store, of course making sure no one is around. If it was crowded, yes of course I would.

I'm in California and our Gov is locking down 31 counties and my rural county is starting to see the virus pop. It is so discouraging.

Stay safe and wear your mask! lol

  11. our town is taking the mask requirement very seriously. you can not go in to a store or anywhere really, without a mask. i don't go out very often but when i do, i definitely wear a mask. i went to the dentist the other day (don't ask why) and i had to wait in my car until they were ready for me. they called my cell phone, i went right in and right into the chair.

we were in serious trouble a few weeks back, but with social distancing and wearing masks, we are really down. the guidelines work, new jersey is living proof!!

be careful and stay safe!! if i were you, i would not go anywhere!!

oooooh and i do love the pocketbook!! and good that you were able to wash it, these days, you can't be to careful!!!

have a fun weekend. ours will be staying in and using the pool only. it is too hot to ride our bikes!!!
