Let Freedom Ring

The blog dogs, Tammie Jayne and Bindie Jolene say "how was your 4th of July?"

I hope your 4th of July was great!
Ours had summer flowers:

(yay, it's sunflower time!)

Buntings galore

Pretty clouds and plenty of FLAGS!
Also present were hot cheeseburgers:
a big white onion:

arm candy for the 4th! LOL

and a new skirt in red white and blue!

corn on the cob was also enjoyed!*****************************************
Today was Sunday, and a pretty day for a walk.

So we headed out. I'm so tickled with my pretty new white summer pocketbook--I took it out to make pictures to show you!
She's a vintage one, and I was so happy to find one.

an old mailbox:

Lots of people out and about:

awwww look at this little cutie carrying her tiger!
I spotted this and zoomed in closer for a better look:

the thick layers of patina on this old pole are so thick

a peek into this peaceful courtyard:
There is a fountain in here that makes a lovely splashing sound
another old mailbox:

I just love the way they do their pretty flower pots here!

I love this yard too!

and we had a beautiful sunset.......
I finished two books this week:
I didn't care for the first one. The Cracker Queen one was pretty funny. Kind of like the Sweet Potato Queens books by Jill Conner Browne if you are familiar with them.
And we have pink snow in Charleston---
see it?

Tiny blossoms from the crepe myrtle trees are softly dropping  pink confetti.
Hope your holiday weekend was nice, I'm on my way to come visit with y'all now........

Brides and celebrations

Goodness Gracious, can you believe it's already JULY??!

Normally, by this time of year, I've made pictures of dozens of brides....this year I've only seen FIVE---three pictured here.
Venues cancelled and brides scrambled to either cancel or reschedule their spring and summer weddings. I was sad for them all.
Alot of brides and grooms wanted to be married rather than WAIT this thing out, and they opted for at home or backyard weddings, the old fashioned way, which I love. Many are still waiting. I haven't seen a single beach wedding this year but there might've been some after they opened the beaches back up. Still, gatherings were still limited to size and that stopped many who had dreamed of large weddings.
When they opened the park back up here, these two brides opted to marry here in the park.
The first picture of that bride up on the Battery, not sure where she said "I do", she was up there just making bridal pictures.

this bride has her faithful dog with her on her special day

Someone here has turned "21"!!

and there is a celebration going on here as well:

Pretty red balloons!

Dinner and a Movie:
I put a nice roast, onions, carrots and "taters" into the crock pot early this morning. By suppertime, it was hot, bubbling, and delicious! Not Sunday yet, but it's one of my favorite "Sunday suppers".
tonight's movie:
IMDB
Tonight's movie (1996) starred Delta Burke and Swoosie Kurtz. I've loved Delta for a long time.
Hotstar
Amazon

Two sisters trying to bring justice for their baby sister, who was murdered in Texas back in 1955.
It was a good movie, I liked it.
Everybody have a safe and fun 4th of July!

my magnolia tree

Today I'll take y'all over to see "my" Magnolia tree. I call her "my magnolia" tree but of course she isn't really mine, she lives in a big public park. LOL

I've been waiting for her to bloom, and now she has!

Shiny glossy leaves and big white blooms.....I never tire of looking at them!
Pretty sky today!
now...........sssssssshhhh---don't tell the other magnolias..........but she is my favorite.......
She's so big and elegant...........she even invites me to come walk underneath her big graceful limbs!

from a distance, the magnolia trees look like bunches of big white birds have come to rest on the branches

some of my new embroidered pocketbook straps..........I LOVE THEM!!

How is your week going?
