Outback in Charleston gets an A Plus!

It was a beautiful RAIN SWEPT DAY here in the Holy City! I love the rain and dont mind venturing out in it....even walk the dogs in it. 

Mr. Front Porch treated me to a lovely supper out at Outback Steakhouse.

While my tired camera was failing....the food and service at this location was not!

My photos DO NOT do our meals justice. Mr. Front Porch had delicious smoked salmon and vegetables. The salmon had an amazing flavor...I loved it too!

I had the sirloin and coconut shrimp. I was impressed with how well they do the coconut shrimp there, it was excellent and the shrimp were a nice big size. The dipping sauce was really great! My steak, which I ordered medium was a bit undercooked......which they QUICKLY AND IMMEDIATELY REMEDIED....and with a great attitude. My salad and baked potato were very good as well. 

Our servers, Megan and Brittani, went above and beyond with their attentive service....very friendly....kept us supplied with plenty of fresh sweet tea and even brought us an assortment of amazing dipping sauces to sample. The  manager also stopped in to make sure they did get my steak correct. 

I know we have such a huge variety of excellent restaurants here in Charleston....many specialty  places and great seafood places.....for a nice dining experience many prefer to avoid the 'big chains' for whatever reason, but if you are in the mood for a great steak, salmon, or many of their other choices.....I highly recommend  the Outback at this location, right across the bridge.

Mellow Yellow

While out walking recently we came upon this sunshiny bright yellow car parked in front of this lovely old yellow house. They also had yellow blossoms in their flower box up on the porch! A very happy house, isn't it?

I smiled when so many of you commented that my gate was 'spooky'.....well that is probably the LEAST SPOOKY gate/fence I have photographed....LOL...wait til you see the next ones....Charleston has so many ancient cemeteries!  I love rambling through them. So check back often.

Currently, I am taking off my 'rambling shoes' and eagerly anticipating a quiet evening snuggled up with all my Fall magazines, which I am ready to delve into!

Biggin Church Ruins

Back in the spring, our lowcountry adventures  took us to BIGGIN CHURCH RUINS, located about two miles from Monck's Corner, in Berkely County.

From what I read, the church was built in the early 1700's, and burned down not once, not twice.......BUT THREE TIMES!
The first time was a forest fire in the 1700s, after which British troops used it to store ammunition in during the Revolutionary War.
They burned it down on purpose when they left it. It was re-built again.
And burned down once more due to forest fire, in 1886. The parishoners did not re-build this time, and left it in ruins. 
The cemetery is still in use today. 
We love tramping through all the lowcountry ruins, ancient cemeteries, old church yards and the like. It is so informational to read all the old tombstones, we learn so much.
The old tombstones are very different from what we use today......and say different things. I love reading the old fashioned names.
And they are always peaceful places! Quiet and relaxing.

 Snapped quite a few pictures.......for my local readers.......this is surely a fun place to go check out! So many pretty things......my favorites were the huge displays of tinkling fountains! We have two at our house and I love them...they are so relaxing!

This is a big place..........we loved walking all the paths and admiring all the flowers and plants.

This is one of our favorite ways to spend an afternoon. Fun, interesting (we always learn something!), relaxing, so nice to look at all the pretty flowers and just take your time. Anyone else enjoy this?

We are having a heat wave here in Charleston....but strolling among the fountains somehow makes you feel much cooler!
