the Sunshine State

Hope everyone had a lovely Mother's Day!

We have returned home and been "recuperating" from our vacation to beautiful, sunny Florida--the Sunshine State. The older we get--the more "recuperating" is involved. LOL!

of course, Tracie and Amybelle came along on this trip! They are always ready for adventures!

That Tansy just couldn't wait to sit in a basket of oranges and show off her fancy orange shoes! LOL

A perfect day for a  scenic drive around Clearwater!
I love to spend a day sightseeing

Lots of things to see! Look at this cute little colorful cottage!

Lots of palm trees, bright condos, and umbrella tables to get a bite to eat or a big sweet tea loaded with lemon!

Streets and attractions were not TOO busy.....this was a great time of year to visit, plenty of parking and not too crowded at all.

Plenty of big hotels and souvenir shops!

Enjoyed walking along by the all the gorgeous boats and seeing the pelicans.

This little lady is showing off her flowered resort maxi dress and her big sunglasses! The lady over behind her has on a pretty blue and white sundress. I love seeing everybody's pretty summer outfits!

Along comes a Pirate ship!

Working up a big appetite for supper!

I'm always searching for delicious GROUPER!!--and when in Clearwater, we always find it at my favorite restaurant!

the restaurant has three levels....some air conditioned, some open air. We chose open air, with plenty of salty sea breezes!

so many yummy choices!

I got the FRIED grouper....others of us got blackened, and others got broiled. It was ALL DELICIOUS

their tartar sauce was good, the cole slaw was good, I washed all mine down with lots of sweet tea!

the people in this picture are up on the roof of that building BELOW:

The beach light begins to turn golden, and this ends another day at the beach.

I will try to post more pictures of our adventures tomorrow.
Hope y'all had a great weekend!

  1. Lots of great pictures and so much to see. That fish looks delicious, don't think I have ever eaten grouper. How about that Pirate ship, what fun. The upper deck with fresh air reminds me of a restaurant we ate at in Hawaii and it was wonderful.

  2. Fried Grouper is my favorite Florida specialty! I'm so glad you had a nice vacation in the sunshine state. It's hot already but we still love it here. And there are so many interesting things to see and do....and eat! Enjoy your week! Get some rest! Oh, and I did pick a big bouquet of my red roses to enjoy for the weekend and they are still pretty today! Hugs, Diane

  3. Oh, that all looks like so much fun! You really did see some lovely sights along the way, and I can see you also found some yummy things to eat. I love a grouper sandwich too. That looks so good. That colorful cottage is so cute...we could certainly enjoy that with our little friends Tracie, Amybelle and Lily Grace, and Tansy of course too! You really did have a wonderful vacation! I'm so glad you were able to include us on your way home. What a treat that was. I can't wait to see what you share about that!! Happy Belated Mother's Day!

  6. Love it!!! And I meant to post on the one about postcards that I collect them, too. Like you- the ones people have sent me! I will get my bag down and count them soon but I betcha I have over 200! Amber and I traveled all over the country when she was competing in Synchronized swimming and we would always buy and send postcards from wherever we were!
