It's Christmas time in the city

January has arrived!

Christmas week we ventured out for a walk after church

trees sparkle in windows...........and toys too

my old little battered up Christmas pocketbook

I love walking around looking at the festive Christmas decorations

a little girl scampers along the sidewalk......and horses walk down the old street--clip clop clip clop........

Pinecones, wreaths, red berries and big red bows

and scarlet leaves on Japanese maples.

this was my Mom's red shawl.....every time I wear it it's like a hug from her

pretty lights flicker at the Calhoun Mansion

I love seeing the fruit fans! I usually only see two or three about town

Lots of pretty decorations at this house!

Hope everyone's first week of the new year has been great. I'll be around to catch up with y'all soon

Those gates and many of the wreaths are especially beautiful. I love your wonderful shawl. You look like Christmas joy personified!

I know people decorate at other times of the year but nothing comes close to the Christmas decorations. I love the pretty wreaths and you look stunning in that outfit! Enjoy your day. It's colder here...only 60 today! Brrrr! hahaha! Hugs!

What a really cool place to spend your time walking. You see some neat stuff. But BRRRR...way to cold in Nashville to be out walking. At least for me, cold affects the fibro. Once it goes cold and stays cold I can adjust better but right now when it can't make up its mind, it becomes rough.

Tonight's Micromoon--we watched it rise over the Battery tonight, it was red and orange

Skywatchers in Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones will get a view of the full moon tonight (Sept. 13) at 11:32 p.m., 10:32 p.m. and 9:32 p.m., respectively, while East Coasters will see the moon at its fullest at 12:32 a.m. on the 14th. Regardless of time zone, the moon will appear just a bit dimmer than usual (eerie!), because it will be at apogee, or its farthest distance from Earth. That means that the moon will appear about 14% smaller and 30% dimmer than when it is at its closest point to Earth, which is known as perigee. (Livescience.com)

LETS END KILLER WHALE CAPTIVITY!!

Please research the captive killer orcas that the SEAWORLD franchise holds captive. It is animal cruelty at it's worst. Those killer whales need to be FREE, NOT HELD CAPTIVE BY us humans and forced to do 'tricks' for our amusement. (and to make SEAWORLD a lot of money. ) Please go watch BLACKFISH when y'all have time okay? also read "Killer at Seaworld". You will learn so much and I doubt if you ever pay entrance fees to enter SEAWORLD or any of it's affiliate parks again.........because you will learn what the money really goes for........PROFIT. Their profit...........the poor whales gain nothing. But life captivity. Sad lonely lives in bathtub size enclosures where they cant even interact with their own pods and offspring normally. Many of them are so sick and die very painful deaths.The 'breeding' program is a joke. They are not even allowed to procreate in a natural and normal manner. The whales that were caught in the wild were taken from their pods and their mothers in a very cruel and inhumane fashion---it is heartbreaking. It's awful sad. Please research and then let me know what you think, okay? Whales are magnificent creatures, I love them. I tell everybody it's okay to love them and to want to go see them......but please go to areas where you can view them in the wild either from the beaches or cliffs or from boats. Not from cement swimming pools where they are mis-treated, gawked at, and forced to 'perform'. God created them and intended for them to exist in the seas! They really need to remain free........................
