Macy's Parade

I love a parade!
One of  my favorite days of the year is the Macy's Thanksgiving parade! Watch it in my pj's with coffee every single year.

Here it comes now!

My favorites--the beautiful Rockettes

This band is from Morgan State University in Baltimore.
This band is from Ronald Reagan High School in San Antonio, Texas.

the winner of the outstanding Band member award this year

I think this is Debbie Gibson!

Oooo--there's that mean old Grinch!
We watched this show every December when we were growing up. Also the beloved Rudolph one, they usually aired the same day. ONLY once a year. We so looked forward to it. There were no repeats, or taping , or VCRs or anything of the sort. If you missed it....you missed it.
This is the Awesome Original Second Time Around Marching Band, composed of former band members! They are from St. Petersburg, Florida.

These girls are the Spirit of America Cheer group, a HUGE GROUP of young ladies selected from all over the States.

Here's Miss America, Nia Franklin:

above: other Miss America contestants

This band hails from Madison Central High school in Richmond, Kentucky.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.- High School from Lithonia, Georgia.

This band is from Blue Springs, Missouri.

I love to watch a lively band that "gets with it!" LOL

Catalina Foothills High School from Tucson, Arizona:

Western Carolina University, Callowhee, North Carolina

I love the soft white fur on their costumes!
Here comes Macy's Great American Marching Band, comprised of members from all over America.

The nice List:

Macy's Spirit of America Dance Stars:

Another HUGE GROUP and these girls were having so much fun!

.......and Thanksgiving dinner:

Mashed "taters" and turkey! YUM
Has anyone else tried this cheese? I had never heard of it until recently, and gave it a try---it's good!

this turkey platter was inherited from Mr. Front Porch's Grandma. We use it every year.

I found butter sculpted like this for Thanksgiving....I thought this was SO CUTE!
There was also stuffing and rolls and gravy. And pecan pie and whipped cream.
If you're looking for good cheese straws....these are a favorite of mine!
Some pretty Thanksgiving cards we received.
And now.........we are speeding towards CHRISTMAS!

  2. When I was a child in NYC, my dad would take my siblings and I and maybe few cousins on the train downtown (about an hour ride) to see the parade. I remember sitting on my dad’s shoulders and watching in amazement as all the beautiful floats and big balloons went by. Then we would all get on the train again and get home just when my mom and aunts had Thanksgiving dinner ready. The parade was big but nothing like it is today.
