ReplyDeleteWhat a splendid evening, with all those red-white-and-blue tributes! It's such a comfortable holiday, somehow, with each area of the country following their traditional celebrations. I love the read of the old-timey days of the gatherings in the town square or just on the sidewalk or under the shade, with "orations" and firecrackers and maybe shooting a real cannon again, after it had long retired from the wars.
