It's a beautiful and breezy night in Charleston. We've had our supper and some of us even had dessert. T/V is boring compared to a nice walk and seeing all the winter and holiday sights and smells and sounds! Besides--walking is good for us, right? Please come with us and I bet we see some pretty things! Ready?
This is the other side of the elegant house with the tree on the balcony:
Oh my GOODNESS!--WHAT is that??!
The yellow flowers in these windowboxes are HUGE! You have to completely step out and around to get around them....but nobody complains I'm sure---because they are so PRETTY!
Lovely December flowers!
I LOVE pretty sights like this--a big tall townhouse ablaze with the glow of lights and lamps and wreaths in every window.
So many wreaths! Wow, it's so pretty!
Rutledge House looks so pretty tonight
I put my soft fluffy pink jacket and my pink scarf on for this picture---you know---to make it look "wintry"........ha ha LOL---that lasted as long as it took to take this picture and I was burning up and that jacket and scarf came OFF! LOL It was in the 70s that night.
(above--upstairs apartment decorated and glowing)
I must've been seeing things......I could've sworn I saw Santa Claus drive a wagon by--and it was all covered in multi color lights! And the horse had lights around it's neck!!
Yes, Charleston has surely "decked her halls"!
"Have yourself a merry little Christmas"!
Wishing all of you a peaceful and happy Christmas, happy Hanukkah, and best wishes for a healthy and happy new year! Thank you to all my readers for another year of faithfully coming here to read, look at my pictures, your comments bless me and the friendships made through here are special.
Merry Christmas to you and have a great 2017 ~ FlowerLady
ReplyDeleteHi, Gypsy...I just LOVE taking walks around your beautiful city. Especially enjoyed this post..and the tree on the balcony and all those lighted wreaths in the windows of the one house are just breathtaking.
ReplyDeleteHoping your Christmas day is merry and bright. xo
it is so nice to see you among the festive pictures of your beloved city. I hope you had a very merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteI always enjoy a walk or a bike ride after dinner, when it's warm enough. Here it's too cold but it feels like Christmas so I'll take it!! Merry day after Christmas Debbie, your images are surely beautiful and bring warmth to the season!
ReplyDeleteWow, almost 70 degrees?! It's supposed to get up to 52 today I believe, but I think that's as good as it gets for today. But I do love my cold weather and snow for Winter. The townhouse is beautiful and looks just like one I toured in St. Louis at the beginning of December. You should google it and see the resemblances, just google Campbell House St. Louis, Missouri.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful week!
Gina
What gorgeous sites on your walk! So tell me, do you have to drive to walk this neighborhood or is it right out your front door?! Envious since I'm a huge Tradd Street Series fan! I hope you had a very Merry Christmas and wishing you a wonderful new year!
ReplyDeleteHi Debbi! I love your Winter in the City picture on your sidebar. Maybe I should start wearing flannel with my skirts. That house with the wreaths is gorgeous. Happy New Year!

I was going to say when I saw that scarf, I wondered how long it would stay on! I love the photos -- and the flowers -- outside!
