Happy Flag Day, Y'all!

after church this morning:

Wow, May has already slipped by and June has arrived!

I had a surprise Mothers day morning. There's a patch of wild cactus growing in one of the fields. it's been there for years, we don't do anything to it, just try to avoid STEPPING on it, LOL. Mother's day morning I spotted bright yellow blooms and walked over to take a look!

It has never bloomed before.

Azaleas were still in bloom all over

and so were these roses, I think they are Lady Banks

Our bluebird family was out fluttering about and busy

Pretty purple blooms, think these are Spiderwort?

My pink rosebush bloomed out right in time for Mothers day!

I love this style of pottery! I think I have three pieces now

I wanted to celebrate Mothers Day at the ocean..............so off we went! It was the girls very first time!

I love driving through the maritime forest here, it's so pretty

over to see the lighthouse, built in 1859

Pelicans were swooping

Peggie was pretty scared

The sound of the waves, all the unfamiliar noises and smells

I finally got her to walk closer to it with me, but she was still unsure

it was a beautiful sunny day

167 steps to the very top! Nope, we DIDN'T. LOL

trying to escape, LOL

But then I got a doggie hug

Peggie, Betsie........then Betsie and Peggie, LOL!

These young girls MOVE FAST, LOL

after our day at the beach........headed back home

we got a beautiful sunset

Both girls fell sound asleep

June is now here. Our ladies are enjoying watermelon on these hot days

Our peppers and "maters" are growing and doing good so far

They're now out in the big garden, and growing quickly!

I hope your weekend has been nice! Its been VERY HOT HERE! And we're getting nice thunderstorms pretty much daily.

Everything we're growing are loving the rains.

OH So happy to see a post from you!! I miss your posts!! I know it's been a long couple of months for you, but I am so happy you had some beautiful times at the beach and with your sweet new girls. They are really beautiful!! Your garden is growing so beautifully, and oh yes, I love cactus blooms! Glad you saw them before you stepped into them! Ouch! They are so pretty, but they just don't last long. I love your beautiful pottery planter! That is gorgeous! This was all so lovely. Welcome back!!!! Happy June!!!

i enjoyed your post so much today...so many of my favorite things!! i forgot about flag day...i have had so much on my mind!! you are so lucky to have that bluebird family where you can watch and photograph them!! i too love flowers, lighthouses and sunsets!! you look good debbi and very happy!! good luck with your garden this year!!

Tonight's Micromoon--we watched it rise over the Battery tonight, it was red and orange

Skywatchers in Central, Mountain and Pacific time zones will get a view of the full moon tonight (Sept. 13) at 11:32 p.m., 10:32 p.m. and 9:32 p.m., respectively, while East Coasters will see the moon at its fullest at 12:32 a.m. on the 14th. Regardless of time zone, the moon will appear just a bit dimmer than usual (eerie!), because it will be at apogee, or its farthest distance from Earth. That means that the moon will appear about 14% smaller and 30% dimmer than when it is at its closest point to Earth, which is known as perigee. (Livescience.com)

LETS END KILLER WHALE CAPTIVITY!!

Please research the captive killer orcas that the SEAWORLD franchise holds captive. It is animal cruelty at it's worst. Those killer whales need to be FREE, NOT HELD CAPTIVE BY us humans and forced to do 'tricks' for our amusement. (and to make SEAWORLD a lot of money. ) Please go watch BLACKFISH when y'all have time okay? also read "Killer at Seaworld". You will learn so much and I doubt if you ever pay entrance fees to enter SEAWORLD or any of it's affiliate parks again.........because you will learn what the money really goes for........PROFIT. Their profit...........the poor whales gain nothing. But life captivity. Sad lonely lives in bathtub size enclosures where they cant even interact with their own pods and offspring normally. Many of them are so sick and die very painful deaths.The 'breeding' program is a joke. They are not even allowed to procreate in a natural and normal manner. The whales that were caught in the wild were taken from their pods and their mothers in a very cruel and inhumane fashion---it is heartbreaking. It's awful sad. Please research and then let me know what you think, okay? Whales are magnificent creatures, I love them. I tell everybody it's okay to love them and to want to go see them......but please go to areas where you can view them in the wild either from the beaches or cliffs or from boats. Not from cement swimming pools where they are mis-treated, gawked at, and forced to 'perform'. God created them and intended for them to exist in the seas! They really need to remain free........................
