Its a rainy day here in Charleston! The old timers would say "it's raining cats and dogs! LOL
I forget what these little birds are called, but THEY LOVE THE RAIN! They come out when it rains. Look at their little lime green legs!
on a sunnier day.......I went to see "my magnolia". She lives in a very public park, so all can enjoy her. She's not really "mine" LOL.
flowers and checks (do you call this gingham?) that day! LOL |

Summer tv:
What's everybody watching?
We just finished the final season of 7th Heaven, it went for 11 seasons, so it took us a good while to watch it all. It was a great show. We never caught it back when it was actually on tv. (started 1996, I think) Guess we were too busy raising our own kids! ha ha LOL
I loved watching all their kids grow up, go to college (or not!), get jobs, get married, have their own kids.
We've finished Season 4 of the Cowboy Way-Alabama. I've learned alot about Alabama cattle ranching in this fun show! The cowboys are gentlemen, Their wives are sweet and their kids are adorable and their adventures are interesting.

Last night we watched the Patsy and Loretta movie on Neflix. It was good. If you want to watch it, it's only on Netflix until July 30, I think.

one of my all time favorite movies--1980's Coal Miners Daughter, with Sissy Spacek playing Loretta, she did a great job and I think it won her an Academy award for Best Actress that year.

Looking to brand new Seasons of The Crown. I think we will be going into Season 5?

Love her living room! And enjoy watching their friendship in their small town. The town is called Serenity, but it actually films in Georgia, Louisiana , and some here in Charleston.

Love watching the nuns and midwives at Nonnatus House, in Poplar, London back in the 1960s. I think we just finished up Season 10.
They did a great job on touching on the important current issues of the day, as well as the medical things.

What all are y'all watching this summer? Any good recomendations?
Love your magnolia blossoms and pictures. Our trees seem to be winding down now on blooming. But I do love their blossoms, and the lovely lemony fragrance, although it can be almost too strong to bring inside. I enjoyed all of your pictures of your walks as always. Now as far as TV goes, we've been watching all the old Alfred Hitchcock Hour and the ones before that which were just 1/2 hour long each. They are pretty good and have some interesting twists and turns. When we get finished with this series I'm not sure where we are headed next. I really don't watch that much TV. John enjoys sports and lots of Youtube videos of lots of different things. I've never seen any of the shows you mentioned. May have to check some of them out when we get done with this. But we don't have Netflix or Amazon prime. Tried them both but didn't use them enough to pay for them. right now I'm just looking forward to fall. That's all I'm thinking about right now, and also the kids' store moving here to town and I will be helping them a lot so won't have as much free time. Pray for their store to succeed and me to survive! LOL. Love ya!
ReplyDeleteLove the magnolia pictures and the rain pictures and those birds green legs haha.
ReplyDeletei love when it rains, a thunderstorm is even better!! i do call the black checks "gingham", it is pretty with the flowers. the magnolias are gorgeous, my neighbor has one and i always enjoy it!! i don't have any good tv programs to share, but you gave me some good ideas!!
ReplyDeleteSend some of that rain to my next of the woods in Texas. These 100+ days are frying our grass and plants. Love all the pictures and that Magnolia tree is huge and beautiful. Have a great week.
ReplyDeleteHaahaha I have been watching Columbo reruns on Peacock, and also the new season of Endeavour! I've actually finished that. I don't have netflix but I too love the movie Coal Miner's Daughter ... I bet I've seen that five times. We are huge Patsy Cline fans! Love your gingham with flowers! Only you, Debbi! Haahaa xoxo
ReplyDeleteWhere have you been, my friend, with your bright, beautiful outfits, fabulous flowers and wonderful walks? You've been sorely missed and I was thrilled to see your post pop up in my email messages for the first time in far too many moons! I'm just delighted -- you look fabulous!
