Winter Beach

Late Christmas day we walked on the beach
It was a beautiful sunny day!

someone put a starfish way up there in the Wishing Tree, isn't that beautiful?

Here's one of my favorite Christmas presents, my new pocketbook!

ooops, I realized while photographing it, I had not yet taken the tags off! LOL!!--those came off real quick--didn't want to be a "minnie pearl", anyone remember Minnie Pearl and her hat? ha ha LOL
This is a picture of it in the catalogue, I fell in love with it and Mr. Front Porch surprised me with it!:
he did good!! LOL

happy dogs on the beach--the sea air makes them so frisky and playful!

and happy children, running, climbing and playing

and then there was a beautiful sunset, which we stayed for.

We drove around looking at Christmas lights.

here's some GREAT PICTURES, HA HA

and there was a lovely manger scene.
Here's another one of my favorite Christmas presents--the 1945 Sears Wish Book! It's going to be so fun on a cold winter night to sit down and enjoy this......probably real soon!

all kinds of fun things to see, and fun to see THE PRICES!!

I picked these books up at the store recently:
I've read this one and it's a cute little book, I got this copy for a present

got several copies of this one.....it looks good, so I got extra for gifts

I've read alot of Jan Karon's but not this one

picked up some Elin Hilderbrands!
Started reading her last summer and love her books!

Back in the 80s, I think, I read alot of books by Billie Letts, so this author's name jumped out at me. Not sure if they are any relation. Think this book is about the filming of the Wizard of Oz movie, so it looks interesting.

another Elin:

These are two books I loved as a child, so I found copies to give to little Miss Fairy Granddaughter, thinking she might love them as well. The books are very old, and "well loved" as far as the condition, ha ha LOL!--that doesn't matter if the book is good, right? LOL

So far our New Year has been great, and Hope yours has been as well! What's everybody been up to? We are actually having winter weather here, with nights hovering at or slightly below FREEZING, which is very very cold for us Charleston folks! LOL There were some pretty snow flurries Saturday morning, also rare for us, so fun to see. I must take down our Happy New Year decor on the fireplace mantle, and put up some hearts and Valentines, Valentines day will be here soon.

  1. So happy to see a new post from you. I've missed you my friend! Love your new purse! That is really lovely. I love tapestry bags and had one that I used for 20 years! I still have it, but it needs a new lining. Other than that, it is still good! I get attached to my bags and don't change them often. LOL. Yes, it is time to put up some hearts and flowers and celebrate Valentine's Day. It finally warmed back up today, and we got outside for a little while. I needed the natural Vitamin D! It felt so good. Hope all is well in your "neck of the woods". The books look interesting. I love Jan Karon books and have read them all. I loaned them out and I guess I won't get them back, but hopefully they are being enjoyed elsewhere. God bless you my friend. (((hugs)))
