Well, the past few weeks she's been doing these fun posts
about things we ladies from the "groovy far-out"
generation remember!
Its been alot of fun looking back and reminiscing with all
the readers and remembering our old styles,
favorite perfumes and beauty products, and the like.
On late night tv the other night I happened upon this
"Time Life" commercial featuring alot of our music
from back in the day. It was the middle of the night,
I was wide awake and my trusty camera was right
near-by..........so I started photographing
I sure enjoyed seeing and hearing all these old groups!
How many do you remember?
Joe Cocker recently passed didn't he?
Sly and the Family had some great hits! Really got ya
dancing!
Check out those bright orange leisure suits with yellow
satin shirts! Remember "leisure suits"
Now THAT picture is just plain psychadelic and weird isn't it? LOL ha ha
but as i recall, so was that SONG! HA
Oh that was a nice song by the Young Rascals! What
other hits did they have, anybody remember?
Satin sure must've been the thing.........he appears
to be in hot pink satin!
Well, gosh...........of course, here is the explanation...
.there's a hit song called "nights in white satin".
I loved that song!
Who sang along with Arlo Guthrie?
I loved all of the Byrds songs!
This was a cute little toe-tapping song. I would've never remembered who sang it until I saw it on the informercial, how bout you?
Oh I loved this song, how bout y'all?
Remember sweet Melanie? I loved her "brand new Key"
song too! Did you used to sing along with Melanie?
ha ha....this picture kind of explains it all, LOL.....remember
the big hit song "Hair"? OH gosh I loved that song! that
was the Cowsills, right? I had that album.
I remember reading many years later that the "Partridge
Family" tv show was based on
the real life singing family singing group, the Cowsills.
Anyone else know?
I'm just not sure WHAT is going on in that above picture!
LOL
Who IS THAT? check out the love beads! and shades!
Oh of COURSE! Its the Lemon Pipers......singing
Green Tambourine!
Gosh, I loved that song, and I loved the name of their band
too! Fun!

the sunshine in" song!!!

rainbow hued
stage costumes y'all!

Does anyone remember when Elton John looked like this?
Gosh I do! I still can sing all his songs by heart especially
Yellow Brick Road
. I remember when he would wear all these big
and flashy glasses at his concerts.
What is your favorite Elton
John song? I loved "Your Song" and
"goodby norma jean" even
before he turned it into
"English Rose" for Princess Diana's memory song.
Did y'all love Linda? I loved her pretty voice.
EVERYBODY can probably sing along with this song,
right? Carly STILL HASN'T revealed who she wrote
that for has she? My take is Warren Beatty!
Another sixties songbird with a beautiful voice!

long road trip? OOOOPs, no, that was "born to

and this was a cool song, do you remember it? Did they
other hits?

am I remembering this right, but does Carlos Santana
or one of the band members actually have a line
of PURSES out now on maybe QVC or HSN? I am
almost certain I saw/read this somewhere?

a whiter shade of pale have anything to do with
the moody blues' nights in white satin'???
the hosts of the show.....I think it was Tommy James
from the Shondells........and I dont know who the lady was
except that I did not recognize her name. Check out her
cool and groovy fashion....bell bottoms, big platforms, and
her embroidered peasant hippie blouse. Oh...and her
pretty 'feathered' hairstyle.
Who liked Cat Stevens?

so many! I did love Summer Breeze and Diamond Girl!

It was sad to see, really....and yet...you look at some of these guys still going strong. Look at Rod Stewart! 71 and the BIG ACT for Summerfest this year! Fun post. xo Diana
