Peeking Flower

I was standing at this house the other day and I looked up............

and saw this bright and brave little blossom leaning over from way up high............

and peeking down at me!!

so I zoomed in and tried for a close-up
Because this little flower really really wanted me to notice her!
Now if you go back to the first picture, you can see where she is leaning over from up there on her porch!

Christmas Day 2015

On Christmas day we took a walk..........

It was one of those mysterious fog shrouded days that Christmas on the beach....
Big container ships gliding in, almost, but not quite, silently.
This sweet little Sheltie's name is Sweet Pea and she was having a ball chasing the waves!

The fog and the salty mist didn't dampen the playful spirits of children and dogs, running and splashing in the surf.

The gazebo at the park on Sullivan's Island was all decorated.
A lovely place to take a Christmas Day walk!

There's a Giraffe WHERE?

That sweet little giraffe keeps watch over the city of Charleston day and night. Every time we walk by I gaze up and make sure he's still at his post. "What giraffe?" you say.
Keep looking...

Now see him?

This historic tall building on the harbor here used to be a nice hotel. (the Fort Sumter Hotel, opened 1924 with 225 rooms) Its now condos. I have not been inside, but they look very nice, and the lobby is elegant and very pretty with a gorgeous sparkling chandelier.
The condos have gorgeous views of the historic Battery, the Cooper River, the Ashley River and White Point Gardens.
A condo here will cost you about $1,155,000.

Lonely Beach

On a nice day (and when I am feeling energetic!) I love to hike this path.

to this quiet stretch of lonely beach. Its very beautiful there, and not many people   go there.
Probably because it's a good little hike to get to it.

But it is so worth it!!

A peaceful and beautiful spot to spend an afternoon!

Festival of Lights in Charleston

We spent an evening before Christmas at the 26th annual Festival of Lights at James Island County Park.

I don't remember this gorgeous blue tree from years past.....I think it was a new addition this year. I loved the blue color!

The sweet little merry go round has lots of friendly animals ready to take the kids for a ride.

There is also a train ride, food court, kettle corn, sand sculptures, gift shop, and fire pits where you can roast your marshmallows.

The giant greeting cards made by local school children are one of my favorite displays each year and I love to slowly walk along and view each one.

We enjoy making our way through the three miles of twinkling bright light displays, many dancing/moving/interacting. Most people drive through but you may walk through too. I always pop popcorn and pack cookies and drinks as well.

Its a bright and festive way to spend a December evening every year, and also where we take little granddaughter to visit with Santa each year. One year it was cold but this year we didn't even wear coats.
