The last of summer in the garden

 

The sweet hummingbirds have left for the Winter, I will miss them alot. Mr. Front Porch took the feeders down yesterday. We leave them up as late as possible for any stragglers who may be stopping in for refreshments on their long migration journey.

Callie is ALWAYS READY to walk about with us!

These are our four o'clocks! they are not like flowers....they are like huge BUSHES. They tower over my head by late July/August. We get a big kick out of them. We've never seen four o'clocks get this BIG, so we enjoy them.

Almost all of the blooms are gone now.

Its been rainy and cooler, On evenings like that after "porch sitting" is done I like to read my newest magazines, that  keeps me busy for quite awhile.

It's a new week, hope yours has started out great!

 Have you had to get out sweaters yet where you live? 

I've been slowly swapping out all my summer clothes for more long sleeves and a few sweaters, and also got out my Fall boots, a welcome change.

 Today I got out some light jackets and scarves to wash and freshen up so they're ready when it's cold enough. If a cold snap comes I don't want to be caught without warm clothes that are ready. LOL

 It's Fall! and a pretty day for a long walk.....

We are so looking forward to the very LAST DOWNTON. I got on that "party" VERY VERY LATE. I had heard people talking about it for a long time, then we finally watched a few episodes and we loved the story and the history. And the COSTUMES, jewelry, hairstyles, accessories.....wow! I'm sad this is the very last movie but pretty sure they've ALL SAID this is the final conclusion and ending, especially with the passing on of Maggie Smith (Dowager Countess) at age 89, I think it was. 

I bet the movie is good, and they've done a great job to end this great series.

We have watched every single episode and the movies after the series ended as well.

So........did you watch Downton?

They are ABUNDANT in the country ditches this Fall!

In the evenings we are still enjoying great episodes of Bonanza! We love it!

And we like to listen to old music:

Been busy putting away the summer clothes and dresses and summer sandals.

Got out my Fall vests. These vests are about 25 years old now, bought a long time ago, and still working, LOL. Much better quality in things back then, I guess.

Put my summer hats away for the Winter:

and put all my "white clothes" away, I have one white skirt, one white pair of pants and one pair of white capris, so that was pretty QUICK AND EASY. LOL
