Major Peter Bocquet's House on a Hot summer Evening

Tonight's walk took us around King and Broad and other downtown streets
This orange house caught my eye:

Cotton wreath

I loved the balcony and the flickering of the old lanterns. They are so pretty and welcoming at nightfall, and add such old fashioned atmosphere.

This line of pretty window boxes caught my eye as well
Not much in full bloom in them...........yet they still look so pretty with all the different shades of green leaves and hanging vines in them.

And these...........the vivid hot pink of the crepe myrtles would catch anyone's eye! I practically had to jump into the street in front of oncoming traffic to get this shot....but it was worth it. LOL
We were treated to a beautiful summer sunset. I think you can tell just by gazing at this photo....that we had another hotter than blazes day here!
I call this one my "Alligator sunset". Can you see the alligator? I saw it immediately! LOL
How was your day?

  1. the crepe myrtles are gorgeous right now!!! and i don't think those window boxes need color, they are so pretty just the way they are and probably require less maintenance!!!!

  3. I enjoyed the stroll very much. The pretty old places, the window boxes and the crepe myrtle! Thanks for popping in to see me and I would love to see your dish collection. I got the little creamer with the set of dishes I found at the Salvation Army!

  4. What a lovely walk! That crepe myrtle is such a vivid color. It's nice that you get to walk around 'old world' beauty.

That was neat seeing an alligator in the clouds.

I'm just up from a nap after working outside this morning for 4 hours, part of the time working in the shade painting the first of 4 wrought iron chairs.

Have a great weekend ~ FlowerLady

  6. Debbi, I enjoyed the walk. Charleston is one of my favorite cities. I've only been there twice, but would love to return.
