Christmas Town

We were in Myrtle Beach yesterday for the annual "Christmas Town" event. Judging from the excitement in the air and the smiles on the hundreds of children we saw there----the event was a success!

There was a giant snowglobe you could go into for photos, a little indoor train ride, synthetic ice skating, booths and free hot chocolate, some of Myrtle Beach's Sun Fun queens, a few vendors as well as representation by some non profit agencies and most of the larger Myrtle Beach Christmas shows (Alabama Theater, Dixie Stampede etc.)

Most intriguing to me was the ARCHITECTURE there! This was my first visit to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. As you can see----I loved the amazing things they can build these days!

Below are a few snaps I made this Fall of a fun place to eat in the Garden City/Surfside Beach area----River City Cafe on the beach. The service there is always great, the view cant be beat (we always sit outside on the ocean front deck) and they always had some of the BEST GROUPER in the area!

I was dissapointed to find it had been removed from the menu at our last visit! So----if you are reading and you are affiliated with River City Cafes......please take note of that! We are missing the grouper fingers for sure! Our waitress did offer us an alternative fish stick menu item though-----and it was delicious!
We love dining at all their area locations-----I enjoy reading all the fun graffiti on the walls and tables!

Fun to look at all the license plates!

In the early spring, the trees are dripping with purple wisteria!

Love the colorful chairs!

Tomorrows spotlight is on "BRIGHT LIGHTS AT THE BEACH" and I'll be featuring beautifully decorated homes and businesses around the Lowcountry. If you have any you'd like featured, please drop leave me a comment or e/mail me and I'll be glad to add them on!

Good bye to Fall

Well, the Fall days are pretty much over. The first day of winter arrives soon and the Christmas season is now in full swing.

Ive gone looking back at some of my favorite captured moments from the past few years--

Just a few more shots of Carolina Fall:
(the settings on my camera were wrong, but the photos were absolutely made in the Fall)
Love the way the branches almost looked like a heart!
"Every leaf speaks bliss to me
fluttering from an autumn tree"......Emily Bronte

"The air is growing chilly  now
and maple leaves feel crisp,
It feels so good to take a walk
in weather such as this".......Louise McQuillen

Colorful produce stand on Sullivan's Island:

Youngsters frolicking on the beach! One was named "Summer" and the other "Zoey". I didn't catch the other dog's names.

Today's Sunday beach stroll

.......one of those crisply  nippy winter days.....with wall to wall sunshine, and the beach to ourselves!
The sand was packed extra hard, we were wishing we had brought our bikes!
(above----pretty pansies basking in the sunshine and posing for their portrait!)

and look at the lovelies spotted at a local grocery......pretty bouquets, ready to take home!
Love the colors!

Carolina Kitty

Look at this gorgeous boy I spotted in the salt marsh recently! He sat up all straight and positively POSED for my photo, all proud and pretty!
Soon as I made one slight move closer to him.....off he bolted, quick as a flash.
