Charleston's Diner En Blanc

Tonight was Charleston's Diner En Blanc.

The elegant pop-up outdoor picnic event began around 1988 and was first in Paris, and is now celebrated in over seventy cities around the world. Attendees gather at a secret location which is revealed just shortly before the event, they dress all in white, bring their own tables and chairs (white), white tablecloths and decorations, and their own gourmet dinner and wine.

Time to hit the dance floor!

After dining and dancing, this tired couple is headed home....

  1. Looks like all the beautiful people were there! What gorgeous dresses! I don't get to see anyone dressed up that much any more. Makes me want to go buy myself a dress! lol I hope you are feeling better my friend. That stuff sure knocks you down! Hugs, Diane

  3. Everyone looks so pretty and it is a lovely scene to see so many people dressed up in white. A friend of mine has attended the one held in Philly for the past few years.

  4. I'm SO glad you went!!! I've read and seen on TV and ENVIED, but never knew an actual participant. Have discussed this with our dear Richmond friends, and perhaps some year, we'll all meet up at your site and have a fabulous evening!

We're both avid cooks, so WE'D bring dinner. Do you know everyone at your table? Invite guests of your own? Can one "crash" the party merely by dint of garb and goodies?

What fun!! And is that SHAG music? I don't know those steps, but could hardly contain myself when the music starts. And Chris' Sis and BIL in Chesapeake are devout dancers, loving the pier dances and other impromptu venues.

All the more enticements every day to visit your lovely city.
