One of our favorite walking routes takes us through downtown's Ansonborough neighborhood
Always interesting things to see there, like this serene bubbling fountain
I love these old fashioned mail slots! Do any of you have a mailbox like this?
A pretty little courtyard:
an awesome fixer upper that looks empty:
Zero George, a quaint little boutique hotel. I think they took four or five historic homes and renovated them into a hotel situated around a pretty courtyard. We have not been a guest here but we hear the service, rooms, and restaurant are top notch!
the Garden Courtyard:
Looks like a lovely spot for a winter supper!
What wonderful old buildings, fences, courtyards and blooms. The one photo for the courtyard inspires me for my front patio. Thank you.

so pretty, gorgeous architecture!!!! what a lovely place to walk around!!!
ReplyDeleteOh how dreamy, and that you get to walk by that anytime you want? Lucky you! I do not have a mail box like you showed us, wish I did and those window boxes look so nice.
ReplyDeleteoooooh and those pretty purple flowers....another looked reminded me how gorgeous they are!!!!
ReplyDeleteI adore this post and I love your "winter" photo of you on the sidebar. These courtyards are so quaint. Love those mail box slots too. I once lived in Montgomery AL, and had a similar mail slot!
ReplyDeleteI can see why you like to walk there - it is a beautiful neighborhood! Thank you for letting me virtually join your walk!
ReplyDeleteNope. I used to have one similar..but that was years ago. Now it's just a little metal box with a horse and carriage mounted on the wall of our front porch. What beautiful places you have to take walks in. I wish ours was like that. California is made up of tract homes..not very interesting at all. We have history here too...just different than yours. Not half as beautiful as far as homes go. There are some but they are few and far between.
