Its raining cats and dogs here in Charleston and it isn't going to let up for awhile. With our already saturated ground.....and our weatherman predicting another 7 to 12 inches more rain tomorrow.....we are hoping it lets up soon. Many downtown streets are flooded and most downtown businesses closed today, as did the Charleston county schools. Alot of flash flooding and sand bags being placed. The Weatherman says its going to be at it's worst early around sunrise tomorrow morning, until around ten am or so, when the winds will come in from the ocean from the hurricane, which thankfully, has moved on out to sea. The waves were big today and the surfers were out in full force at the Wash Out in Folly Beach enjoying the big surf rolling in....they live for that!
"Raindrops Keep Falling on My Head...."
When I took the dogs out to walk earlier we stood underneath a palm tree and the wind picked up and blew the rain down on us.......we were soaked! LOL I had pulled out my first long sleeve t-shirt today, and it felt great with the nice cool breezes.
The last of the cheery and showy crepe myrtles are bidding us good bye now. It must be time for Fall to really arrive soon....
I made a big crock pot of homemade beef stew which makes the house smell so good! And threw open all the windows for fresh breezes today.........for the first time since early summer! Sure felt great. Will be doing some Fall decor decking of the halls this weekend.
What are y'all up to? Stay warm and dry y'all!!
Hope the flooding isn't any worse than it already is there for you and others.
ReplyDeleteYour crepe is lovely, and your cooler temps sound wonderful as does your beef stew.
Have a lovely weekend ~ FlowerLady
Everything looks so fresh. Our Crepe Myrtle is saying goodbye too. I wish we had at least a bit of your rain..we keep hoping. My children are in Atlanta..I am wondering how close the hurricane will come to them. Have you had any serious warnings yet?
ReplyDeleteLOL I started your post at the pictures and didn't see all the writing. Yep..lots of rain for sure.
ReplyDeleteI had not heard that it had curved and went further out to see. Does this mean Maine will be safe. We have a brother living alone in his mid 80's there..just lost his wife and we worry about him. Hopefully this mean it will miss them. I get better weather reports from my sweet blogger friends than I do the weather men. :)
I love the view of your rain splattered windows! I hope today was not as bad as expected. I missed the news tonight. Be safe.

I am relieved to hear that you are doing alright with all that rain. The pictures on the news show a worrisome story. Stay safe and indoors.
ReplyDeleteDebbi,
ReplyDeleteStay safe. Living in Florida, I have a feeling for what you are going through. Sending good thoughts and prayers out to you.
Gorgeous pictures.

Love the rain on the windows! I've always enjoyed the rain, but not when it is flooding.
