November lights

"Autumn glows upon us like like a splendid evening; it is the very sunset of the the year...."

..............................................Mary Russel Mitford

The big full Frost Moon has been shining brightly the past few nights. It's so clear and big and pretty.

Back in September, Tracie and Amybelle had a job to do that day..........

they are (just like me! LOL) busy making pictures

showing off their Fall outfits

a BIG TANGLE of Fall lights!
We hang up purple, orange, and green for Fall. This year we couldn't find our green ones though.

They did finally get their job completed.
We've enjoyed the festive lights all Fall, now it's time to get the CHRISTMAS LIGHTS UP, my favorite!
Not many days left of November, soon we will welcome December!

SUNDAY DRIVE

 Time for a Sunday Drive!

Hop on in and lets see where we end up!

The corn and sunflowers have all been harvested now.

the cotton fields are still here, they are starting to bale them up this week.

I love seeing the snowy cotton fields

Trees growing out the window!

We ended up in a small town called Ridgeland. This little town was originally called "Gopher Hill", (1894) because of all the gopher tortoises that live there.

love these old buildings!

We love poking around little towns like this, the older, the better! Love the history.

Always interesting things to see
There's a rooster on the roof!

Neat little shop!

Love these old gas pumps!
These sure bring back memories....My Ma-Maw lived near an old gas station and on sweltering hot days, we'd walk over and get an ice cold Dr. Pepper out of the machine. It was the kind of machine you put the money in, and then reach in and get your frosty cold drink in a little glass bottle. I'll never forget how delicious that was on a hot summer day!
The hot sun, the smell of gas fumes, the feel of a cotton Seersucker sunsuit, and a cold drink in a glass bottle! LOL

an old southern house

Really glad you came with us today, for a nice long drive out into the country, and then into a little historic town!
Hope your weekend has been happy, healthy, calm, and safe!

fall and church supper

How is Fall coming along in your neck of the woods?

I love to walk around. Here I am staring at the forest! LOL

Pretty many flowers blooming for us. I think these are Snapdragons?

Friendly little green creature says "hi"!

And our mandevilla still is blooming

Red geraniums still blooming too. And (not pictured) but our yellow begonia is crazy with big pretty blooms. I guess the last of the season.

Church suppers are always fun! This was our annual Soup Supper.
There were delicious soups and cornbreads! I went back for seconds.
Prettily decorated tables and look at all those desserts dished up and waiting!
Brownies and what we in the South call "Nanner Pudding". LOL

Got a stack of old paperback novels from the 1980s, by Helen Van Slyke. Most take place in the 1930s and 1940s eras, up through the 1950s for some. I read them all summer, and am now on about the 4th or 5th one.
Reading any good books now that Fall is here?

Hope your week is going well! And your Fall weather is sunny, cool, and beautiful!
