Summer in the City

School's Out!!

Charleston kids know a great way to beat the heat!

At the fountains!

Ice cold rushing splashing gushing water!

When it's 97 degrees out This. Feels. Perfect.

What kid wouldn't want to run and play and splash in this?!

  1. I must be a big (really big) kid, because I would love to splash in that! That fountain is beautiful. You certainly live in a beautiful area. Hope you get some cooler weather!

  2. Oh, how wonderful...i just love the idea that the kids are allowed to play here...so many fountains in so many cities are off limits for play and that is sad. When i was a little girl living in Dallas, the city would clean out the fire hydrants every couple of weeks..they would flush them out and every kid for 3 blocks would be there, playing in the water....great memory that has lasted some 70 years ....

  3. I remember doing the very same thing when we were kids in the city - and I brought my daughters to the sprinklers when they were little, also! What fun!!

  7. One doesn't have to be a KID to enjoy that water!!!!!! BUT--in Charleston, in the summer, when it's 99 in the shade, I would definitely want to get VERY WET.....
