SEWE in Charleston

....and so we went..........
along with LOTS OF other people. And DOGS! So MANY dogs! For someone who loves dogs like myself, this was a wonderful place to be.

Picking up my badge:

For 36 years, the Southeastern Wildlife Exposition has featured so many events and exhibits. There is wildlife art, music, pet adoptions, nature photography exhibits, craftsmen with everything from leather goods to jewelry and handcrafted furniture. There is an  oyster roast, educational and fun activities and contests for the kids, auctions, fly fishing demos, retriever demos, and chef demonstrations. One of my favorite events is the Flight Demonstration put on by the Center for Birds of Prey with raptors like hawks, owls, and falcons. I love to watch them soar over Marion Square and see how they hunt for their food in the wild, plus I love the up close and personal look at their feathers, talons, patterns, and their gorgeous eyes!
My favorite event of the three day event is the DOCK DOGS.

Dogs of many different breeds and sizes compete in water sports in the tanks by the river. I love watching them!
Television personality and author Jack Hanna did presentations this year.
And the weather was great!--perfect time of year to visit Charleston!

Ladies in lovely hats

Check out this stylish lady!

Here comes another one:
Cute outfit!

Lots to see and do:
Herding demonstrations
Gypsy's Mommy was a Border Collie. Seeing those floppy silky ears, the big fluffy  swishy tails, and looking at those sweet faces--so familiar, so familiar....well you can imagine how I was feeling......

This little dog was intently watching!
Toe tapping music:

Is this dog BEAUTIFUL or what!!?
Camel rides for the kids

Ponies ready to give rides.......and a Petting Zoo too
As well as springy things that go up and down and up and down and bounce!

Neat things to buy:

and lots of great food!

a look of love for his owner
Watching from the river:

Thank you for visiting with me today and come back tomorrow for my coverage of the Dock Dogs, my favorite event at SEWE!
***Thank you, SEWE, for having us! Cant wait 'til next year!***
