A Day at the Beach

We got to spend another day at the beach a couple of weeks ago .
Youngsters delighted to be in the surf:

Here I am enjoying the sun! My waterproof make-up is holding up well!  LOL

My trusty "to go" cup"

Surfers got  much bigger waves the next day , when we got some stirred up ocean from the on-coming storm:
Cute tropical beach cottage!

The road that leads to the beach. Green and the trees form a canopy over the road.
Street Scenes at Folly Beach:

It was a great day at the beach!

27 State Street

We walk past this French Quarter bed and breakfast all the time. Its a really neat bed and breakfast. I think they only have a few rooms.

When you look up, you see this unique and pretty veranda. If you stay there, you can sit outside there and enjoy the sounds and the smells of our city.

It used to be someone's home, and was built in the very early 1800's.

The peaceful and beautiful courtyard. You can hear the fountains splashing and  tinkling.

A Secret Garden

This is a churchyard we love to walk around in.

I am always in awe of the workmanship and attention to detail in these old buildings, homes, and churches. They truly  don't "build 'em like that anymore".
the church was built in 1787 and is the oldest Unitarian church in the South. I loved photographing the Gothic Revival style.

Gnarly old trees:

Peaceful paths lead past ancient crumbling stones......
and overgrown gardens show off vibrant blooms.
Lacey Spanish moss is so delicate and sways lightly in the spring breezes.

Trees canopy the paths and cause flickering shadows.

Underneath palm trees and magnolias, here is a quiet and peaceful place to sit awhile or enjoy a sack lunch.

Another Charleston churchyard...a very interesting and relaxing way to while away a spring afternoon...in a "secret garden".

Its "Good Fences Day"! Linking up with Tex for the "good fences party"

Happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there! May you have a lovely day with the ones you love the most.....spent making memories that you can treasure and enjoy for years to come! Because that's what it's all about, isn't it? Because there is nothing more precious or valuable  than time with our loved ones.
Everybody have a great day!

Little White Squirrel

Recently on my friend Diana's blog:

she posted the most amazing pictures of a really
unique and unusual squirrel.

I'm here today with some photos I tried
to get of a pure white squirrel we kept
running into on our walks in this
wooded area in a neighboring county.

Are these common or rare? It was sure
the only one I had ever seen.

SEE HIM?
Kinda looks like a white feather sticking up out of the ground, doesn't it? LOL Honest, that's his tail.

there he goes!

trying to get away.............BUT WE SEE YOU!!

............GONE!
this was my old camera, so these were the best I could do.
