Little Places

Ruby red bottle tree...so pretty!

Did someone live here once upon a time? Or was it a little shop?

And finally, a lovely little cottage on Sullivan's Island:

Scenes around Town

I spotted the sign above back around November, I believe.

I have always loved that little cottage above, with the pretty green trim and shutters! It is so charming and just looks so homey!
Love the glass on this old front door!
Its a new week, what's everybody up to?

Linking up with Judith at "Lavender Cottage" for MOSAIC MONDAY!

Charleston Tree Lighting 2014

A last look at Christmas 2014

The entertainment on stage was fun, Santa arrived and turned our tree on, snacks were had, and a great winter evening was had by all who attended!

Discovered so many beautiful and colorful blooms on our walk yesterday

The bells of St. Michael's

On Thanksgiving we toured St. Michaels.

The original organ was made in London. It was installed here in 1768.
(below) I was amazed standing and looking up at the MASSIVE wood double doors and their gleaming shining finish!

The workmanship was just so beautiful...the pews are native cedar. A pew in the middle is where George Washington sat and worshipped in May of 1791. And about 70  years later, General Robert E. Lee also worshipped here.

The beautiful chandelier came from London in 1803. At first it was a candle chandelier, then ran on gas. It later was 'electrified'. I wonder how they got it lit when they used candles? Anyone know?

I love touring the historic old churches and the ancient cemeteries we have here in the city!

Happy New Year from the Porch!

Charleston's Marion Square was the place to be last night!

We were entertained by several lively hours of music by the band Soulfish, as well as many other entertainers and amusements.

Good things to eat!
Fun things to buy!

The weather was great....crisp and chilly but not FREEZING!
HAPPY NEW YEAR Y'ALL!!
