Hello, spring

So glad it's finally Spring! and April!

my John Sloane Country Calendar for this month, love this rainy picture!

April showers bring May flowers, right?

Is this a cherry tree below? or a Chinaberry tree? Anyone know? We've been told both. We have quite a few here .

Signs of spring all around us on our after church walk today

trees budding.......and also leafing out. The pecan trees are always last.

Next four pictures: Bold colorful azaleas in full bloom in small towns

Back at our home, pretty little white blackberry blooms scattered all over

and tiny splashes of yellow wildflowers:

and some of my most favorites........the pretty purple blossoms that take over some of our fields every spring:
I think they are so pretty! Mr. Front Porch has to mow alot of them down, but he leaves a field for me to enjoy until they are done as spring comes to an end and summer moves on in.
I've not been able to identify what they are, does anyone know?
time to go change clothes, feed animals, plant things, and gather eggs!

Callie is along to supervise. Of course. LOL

Hope your week is going along great! It's been very warm here this week and a few nice rain showers to help things grow and put a small chill in the air.
So glad you stopped in to see me!

  1. I love this post, Debbi! Those purple "fairy flowers" in your yard are Blue Toadflax! I had to look them up because I have a lot of them too until we started mowing. What a crazy name for them, huh? You have so many beauties around you...dogwood, azaleas, and oh, that tree is a Carolina Cherry Laurel tree. We have some of those too. I always just called it a wild cherry tree. Your Callie is so beautiful. I bet she'd love to meet my Sunshine and Blackie Sue! They'd have a real cat party and just meow all day long! I love seeing you gathering your eggs. What a joy for you to have such abundance!! I love seeing more of your lovely farm. OH, the pecan trees! Did you get many pecans last year? What a treasure trove that is!! Yes, this week is lovely, a little bit cooler and perfect spring days! Enjoy your beautiful home! Thank you for sharing it with us today.

  2. You have a cute outfit for everything! I like that apron and all of your pretty flowers. The Spring flowers are already starting to be fewer here. I showed off some gnomes today! Hugs!
