New Year happy

 Happy happy New Year Y'all!!

LOL..Here they are at their party last year:

Below, our new John Sloane calendar.

wow, January has arrived!

John Sloane calendar
New Years day eats:

We had the traditional Black Eyed peas, I threw in butter beans, Peppers, and green beans.
And lots of hot buttery cornbread!
A walk on New Years Day:
I was happy to wear my new black fluffy coat I got for Christmas! You can see my new pearl necklace too.
Yes, we have bright pink flamingoes in our fields! LOL

This little one was busy on the tree

Merry New Year from Beauty and Rose! They are fluffing up their feathers alot, to keep warm.

Putting away the last of the Christmas things. Above, my little old purse. I've had it a couple decades, I decorated it with beads and rhinestones a long time ago, and still carry it to some events at Christmas time.
Fun Christmas headbands and below, my Christmas tree ring
Putting away Christmas music too:

Finished up a BUNCH of old novels by Helen Van Slyke.

And finished up our Christmas movies. We love to watch good movies on cold winter nights.

So happy for books and movies on cold evenings

Below, my little houses that I used to decorate with our Christmas village this year

I have now put the little people, skating mirror pond, trees and scenes from our winter village away, but have left the houses out, I enjoy them so much. Plus I received a late Christmas present that arrived..........it's other houses that go with my set. I am so thrilled to get them!

Below, my new ones. I love all the fun scenes on them! It's a busy little neighborhood! LOL

They are Christmasy but I'm not packing them away just yet!

They originally came with cookies or candy in them.

It's really cold here, for us. 21 degrees yesterday before church, brrrrrr. Coats, hats, and gloves are getting used every day now. It's actually kind of nice, a brisk break from our hard summer heat and humidity.
Temperatures in the 20s are very cold to us here but we know many of y'all in colder climates/regions are even colder and also have ice and snow, so please be careful out there, and stay warm!
How is your New Year going so far?
If you get a chance go outside and look at the beautiful full Wolf Moon, it's bright and pretty.

Thanks for stopping by and for friendship and comments the past year.

  3. I'm sorry I missed this one earlier in the week! Where do these days go? I love seeing the "girls" all dressed up in their New year's finery, and YOU too, in that beautiful black coat and your beautiful pearl necklace! You look nice and warm!! Oh, I LOVE those Christmas houses! They are so interesting and cute! Where do you find them? I'm not sure if I've ever seen them before! Oh, your black eyed peas and beans, etc. all looked so good!!! Yummy! Yes, it is going to get very cold here next week too, and maybe some snow flurries! Wouldn't THAT be fun??? I may have to stay up past midnight to see them, however! LOL. So if that's the case, I'll probably miss them! Oh well! "Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!" I hope you are doing well. I enjoyed this post. Take care my dear friend.
