Lily Grace's scavenger hunt

"we're so excited! What do we do??"

We accepted the "scavenger hunt challenge" from our friend Pam and her doll Lily Grace!

They live in Florida and are at her blog "Closed Doors  Open Windows:   https://pamelasopenwindow.blogspot.com/

Pam found the fun scavenger hunt in the August issue of Better Homes and Gardens:

it's a wet, dreary, drizzly day, but we are going anyway!

Tracie and Amybelle have on their walking shoes and are ready to go!

Tracie is the first to spot something! It's a mailbox!

We soon find a garage door and a fire hydrant!

"how's THIS for a leaf bigger than my hand?" exclaims Tracie!!

Here's a pretty wreath on a pretty blue door! Is that on the list??? Nope.......dang it! LOL

Amybelle has stopped to look at this house and the pretty pink flowers!

Flowerpots ARE ON THE LIST, and she spots one! Yay, Amybelle!

She quickly spots a flag too!

Tracie finds the basketball net:

on we go............searching...........looking.........

Tracie finds a cone shaped tree

and then Amybelle finds one of her own!

I find a stop sign

I find a wood fence!

so does Tracie........

.......and so does Amybelle.

And on we go.................

Amybelle is thrilled and so proud to find her OWN mailbox, just like Tracie! LOL

hows this for the fun shaped window? I think it will go

Amybelle found a flower pot first....but Tracie finds one too.

Tracie picks THIS for the fun shaped window. I do like hers better!!---and she also spots the dog.

"Are angel wings on the list?" Nope..........sorry Tracie! Fun to see though!

I spot the garden hose

Amybelle wants to know if palm trees are on the list and we have to tell her "no".

pretty summer blooms, fresh in the rain
.........and here's some peeking through a fence.

we go to see this big huge gate........and look inside to the garden!

today's "arm candy" LOL!

Tracie spots the little library!!..............

Nope! Amybelle does!! OK........you BOTH DO! LOL

Mr. Front Porch spots the yellow door
...........and I find the swing!
Tracie spots her own flag

and I find bikes.

We peek into an antique shop windows.

We couldn't find a delivery truck. Will a U-haul delivering furniture count? LOL

It's gettting dark! What do we have left on the list? A birdhouse?? Okay....hard to see it, but that's one of the "see Rock City" birdhouses! Yay!
We found the heart in this fence. It's hidden in there, if you look closely, you will see it!

We searched high and low........couldn't find a gnome ANYWHERE on our hunt! Amybelle has one at home, so we let her claim that one! LOL!

I think we found everything except the cat, the feather and the pinecone! I  hope y'all take the scavenger hunt challenge too, so we can see what YOUR FINDS look like from where you live! It was fun! Thanks, Pam, for inviting us!

  1. Girl, you could start a booming little business---you could put up an ad to have your two young ladies as Tour Guides to escort Flat Stanleys all over your beautiful city. Those are EVERYWHERE, sent to aunts and uncles and old friends for tours of wherever they live, and you'll see folks posing them in front of the Racetrack, the COLTS stadium, all the downtown fun places, the state Museum. We've toured a few ourselves over the years, making them little Peyton jerseys and fancy-stickered small racing suits for their travels. Do mention it to your girls---they're such sweet, attractive young citizens, and I'm sure the market for your tours would simply explode amongst the third-grade set all over the country.

How you doin' Dear Friend? Just peeking in on your cheerful adventures is a wonderful SOOTHE to my midnights and dawns, and I look forward to getting back into the loop of all your fun travels. Stay well and keep posting these lovely walks. r

  5. Oh Aunt Debbi, and Tracie, and Amybelle!! (And Mr. Front Porch too!!!) I am SO excited that you finally were able to take up my challenge and do this fun Scavenger Hunt! Wasn't it fun? You all did a great job finding things...and you can keep looking for the things you missed! They may show up when you least expect them! We saw another yellow door yesterday, but Mommie didn't take a picture of it. You all did such a great job and I can tell you had a lot of fun! I wish we could all do one together! Maybe someday when we can finally be together in person we can go on a new Scavenger Hunt! Thank you for sharing your fun results with us. Mommie and I are very happy you did this!!! Yay, Yay, Yay! Love, Lily Grace and Mommie (Pamela)

  6. What a busy day you all had. Finding lots of great things. I so funny that you pictured a library, I was just telling another blogger that I wanted to do one of these at my house, on the side of the road out of the way of others but waiting to find info from codes on it. I would really like to do that. We don't have them in Nashville but I first spoted them in Calif.
