On gray, misty, rain filled days, it's a good time to take a drive.....
there are things to see---such as this boat that didn't quite make it.....or mailboxes still wrapped up in Christmas lights |
Empty rain washed country roads leading us.....where?.....
the lowcountry marshes are green again |
Empty buildings stand in silence........
Country scenes:
shhhhhh--someone's camping |
Clouds are hanging low over the water on this Spring day |
They bring in alot of oysters at this spot! They are happily consumed at the downtown restaurants.
Lonely country roads lead us past buildings that once were busy
Oh my, I am the first to leave a comment. Debbi, thank you for the sweetest ever comment left on my blog. It was such a terrible accident the took our little Weetie.
ReplyDeleteSorry for being away from your blog for so long...I need to catch up too. Don't know why it is so hard to find time on the computer...and now with a new puppy!
Your drive on the rainy dreary day was enjoyable. You always have such interesting pictures and such beautiful pictures of beautiful Charleston. So amazing! I miss the coast and love to remember our days at Folly Beach. I noticed your two lovely dolls in your last post. Do you have a large collection of dolls? They are so pretty.
How wonderful to have a slow drive in the rain. That boat sure looked out of place and there must have been a story to tell about that:)
ReplyDeleteSad to see all the old abandoned places. I can only imagine the stories that could be told.
ReplyDeleteI love a good drive on the back roads and stopping here and there to take pics. You can see some pretty silly, awesome, cool and neat things if you just keep your eyes open. Problem is I am usually the one driving, so at some times I need to pull over and let other cars go by cause I am driving slow and looking! Something that makes me cringe is Christmas lights left up after Christmas. I just don't understand it. I was hoping to take out with my camera today but I have things I need to get done and here I sit...haha
ReplyDeleteDon't you wish you could hear the stories behind some of those silent buildings. Love the pictures especially the one going down the wet road covered by trees.
ReplyDeleteHave a great week.
Oh, yes! Every building has a story...some sad, some happy, but some are just old and worn out stories that no one seems to want to hear anymore. Thank you for sharing these "stories" in pictures today. They need to be remembered. Looks like you had a wet day for your ride. We started out wet early this morning, but it turned out to be a lovely day to sit on the swing this afternoon. I enjoyed riding along with you. That was fun. Something different!! Have a happy and blessed week.
ReplyDeleteEverything is so different in the rain! I love rainy days except you can't get outside to take pictures! But you did a great job from inside the car. I actually love taking photos from the passenger seat! It's fun to do on really hot days too, when the sky is showing out and after you're done taking pictures, you can get an ice cream! I especially love your pier shots ... xoxo
