Wet Kiawah Island

On a recent rain swept day we visited Kiawah Island, a barrier island off our coast.

We saw some pretty scenery

and took a walk on a wet and deserted road.
Saw some pretty flowers--refreshed by the rain:

If I hadn't had trouble focusing my camera.....I would've had some great bird pictures! Oh well....I will keep practicing...

There are alot of biking and walking paths and trails, golf courses, parks, the river and marshes, and the beach.
I liked this quiet little area with the smooth glassy water.
We never let a little rain stop us. If we did--we would miss out on so much. How clean and fresh everything looks and smells when it rains. How you can hear the rain dripping off the trees. The pretty reflections in the puddles. The nice breeze, so welcome on these hot hot days in the South. The way the animals and birds venture back out soon as the rain stops...to see what is going on and what is new. And the sprinkle sprinkle sprinkle of the drops of rain as they hit the ponds and puddles....very calming and relaxing. Everything just feels so CLEAN. And who doesn't love to listen to a rain shower coming down in the middle of the night?
It rained....and we still enjoyed.

  3. What a lovely place to visit. Thank you for sharing your walk with us. It would be nice to have some rain down here. It keeps being predicted but goes all around, giving us only a few sprinkles or nothing at all.

Have a great day ~ FlowerLady

  5. I learned a long time ago that if you let a little rain stop you, you might never get back and have that experience. It looks lovely. Apart from the alligator sign!
