Bright Bird

While in Florida recently, I met up with this gorgeous fellow.

His colors are so bright, so colorful, so tropical!

He wandered around, trailing his long long swishy tail along. I wanted him to open it!

C'mon, pretty boy.....show me that gorgeous plumage!

Please?

Pretty please?.....and the more I sweet talked him, the more he prissed and preened and strutted around, and lo and behold!.....the eye catching feathers went up! He seemed to know exactly what I was asking him to do.

Thank you, beautiful peacock, you made my day!

  4. Oh, I love peacocks! Our neighbors to the south, of our place, have several and I love seeing them, as I drive by. They have the most beautiful solid white peacocks!

    Grace & Peace.

  6. Oh, Gypsy! Aren't they simply the most gorgeous walking jewelry! Absolutely perfection in feathers. And your flirtation held charms you knew not of---what an honor and a memory of something so rare and precious. It must have been like having a Unicorn eat from your hand.

One of my own most vividly beautiful memories is of when Chris and I were first married, we took the children to the Memphis Zoo, and had a picnic out in the big park area. I sat quietly on the ground as a big glorious fellow walked over, accepted a grape from my upturned palm, then stood pressed companionably against my side, eating them one by one in that Hot Summer Sunshine.

Thank you so much for dropping in at LAWN TEA, and for your sweet words about all my Aunts and Uncles and the lovely memories of their fabulous-to-me wardrobes. Dressing and makeup habits of that long-ago era were so interesting to me, with all the wonderful fabrics and perfumes and powders, and made quite an impression in my growing-up years.

I'm so fortunate to have those special, set-apart memories of such kind folks in my memories.
