charming

 I have these bright plastic charms on a necklace.

There are cheeseburgers, record players, jet airplanes, a mustard bottle, and lots more.

I started one for Fairy Granddaughter when she was little, and had fun adding these fun charms for her. She wanted ME TO WEAR one with her, so I made another one, for myself. LOL

She's outgrown these now, but I keep mine for fun memories. Here Tracie is taking care of it for me. LOL

I removed the Statue of Liberty charm and hung it next to a picture I took of the World Trade Center, back in the 1970s.

Tansy models the bracelet:

It has American Girl Doll charms on it. A car, a doll, and a book.

Our watermelons are in, and each chicken coop got one, they loved it so much! They devoured them.

Petunias are blooming and so is the Butterfly bush.

Hope everyone's week is coming along nicely and it's not too hot where y'all are.
It's really hot here again, with Hurricane Debby on by, the cool breezes are missed.

Garden fairies

There's a fairy house in our garden:

and there's  a fairy door too:

and their tiny little birdbath too.

we had some very strange mushrooms last summer!

big weird ones....

but the fairies sure loved them, LOL

blue fairy

this shy fairy hid her face

another mushroom.........

...........and these varieties too........

You've heard of fairy rings, right? Well one day I went out and we had a fairy Line

and the line led straight to THIS LITTLE fairy door. Fun, isn't it?

Fairies in the tall grasses.......and fairies guarding their little door.

and fairies picking tiny blossoms and making flower crowns

one of my most favorite childhood poems:

THERE are fairies at the bottom of our garden!
It's not so very, very far away;
You pass the gardener's shed and you just keep straight ahead --
I do so hope they've really come to stay.
There's a little wood, with moss in it and beetles,
And a little stream that quietly runs through;
You wouldn't think they'd dare to come merrymaking there--
      Well, they do.

There are fairies at the bottom of our garden!
They often have a dance on summer nights;
The butterflies and bees make a lovely little breeze,
And the rabbits stand about and hold the lights.
Did you know that they could sit upon the moonbeams
And pick a little star to make a fan,
And dance away up there in the middle of the air?
      Well, they can.

There are fairies at the bottom of our garden!
You cannot think how beautiful they are;
They all stand up and sing when the Fairy Queen and King
Come gently floating down upon their car.
The King is very proud and very handsome;
The Queen--now you can quess who that could be
(She's a little girl all day, but at night she steals away)?
      Well -- it's Me!

by Rose Fyleman

the poem was written by Rose Fyleman. She was born in 1877 and was a teacher. She wrote lots of books for children.

I loved reciting the whole poem by the time I was 6 years old. I was an early reader and LOVED BOOKS AND POEMS so much. I don't think they even teach children to "recite" things anymore, do they? LOL

that was something they taught in "the old days" and I am old, haha LOL.

In talking to our Fairy Granddaughter, they don't even have Spelling tests anymore!? Or writing/penmanship?
School is so very different.

Hope you enjoyed a walk around our fairy gardens. My friend Pam sent me the adorable pieces above. There is a fairy house, a fairy swinging from a tree, and a fairy birdbath. I found a special spot for them and just love them.

How is your week going and did Hurricane Debby come near you?
I've had enough of Debby and now they tell me parts of her are making their way BACK HERE.  We've had so much rain already!
I hope everyone is safe from the storms.
