Lovely Lemons

I met the most delightful couple on Folly beach tonight and they shared their bright and colorful Meyer lemons with me.

When I first saw them, I wasn't sure if I was looking at an orange tree or a lemon tree--Diana explained that the meyer lemons are a cross of both.

Just look at all that gorgeous fruit tumbling down from the branches!

The branches were heavy with the citrus fruit.

Diana showed me the dainty and delicate little flowers that start the fruit:

.........and then she went and picked me one perfect lemon and gave it to me.

That just made my day!
Many thanks for your kind hospitality, Diana!

  1. I have a small Meyer Lemon, and a small Key Lime that I bought last spring. Both have flowers right now and I'm looking forward to enjoying their fruit. How nice for your being gifted one lemon from a stranger.

  2. They are beautiful! I was surprised to see how BIG many of the lemons were here. I cut an organic lemon yesterday and it was so fragrant. Nothing like fresh off the tree! Enjoy your week sweet friend. Hugs!
