Christmas Town

We were in Myrtle Beach yesterday for the annual "Christmas Town" event. Judging from the excitement in the air and the smiles on the hundreds of children we saw there----the event was a success!

There was a giant snowglobe you could go into for photos, a little indoor train ride, synthetic ice skating, booths and free hot chocolate, some of Myrtle Beach's Sun Fun queens, a few vendors as well as representation by some non profit agencies and most of the larger Myrtle Beach Christmas shows (Alabama Theater, Dixie Stampede etc.)

Most intriguing to me was the ARCHITECTURE there! This was my first visit to the Myrtle Beach Convention Center. As you can see----I loved the amazing things they can build these days!

Below are a few snaps I made this Fall of a fun place to eat in the Garden City/Surfside Beach area----River City Cafe on the beach. The service there is always great, the view cant be beat (we always sit outside on the ocean front deck) and they always had some of the BEST GROUPER in the area!

I was dissapointed to find it had been removed from the menu at our last visit! So----if you are reading and you are affiliated with River City Cafes......please take note of that! We are missing the grouper fingers for sure! Our waitress did offer us an alternative fish stick menu item though-----and it was delicious!
We love dining at all their area locations-----I enjoy reading all the fun graffiti on the walls and tables!

Fun to look at all the license plates!

In the early spring, the trees are dripping with purple wisteria!

Love the colorful chairs!

Tomorrows spotlight is on "BRIGHT LIGHTS AT THE BEACH" and I'll be featuring beautifully decorated homes and businesses around the Lowcountry. If you have any you'd like featured, please drop leave me a comment or e/mail me and I'll be glad to add them on!

  1. Hi! Thanks for stopping by The Hut, always nice to see another beach lover in blogland.

I've always wanted to go to Myrtle Beach and now I know where to eat! I'm hoping to get up there this summer, fingers crossed.

I love those rockers in your header, I want a pink one!

btw, I don't know if you realize this and I don't see a link to your email, but there's seems to be something wrong with your template. From my end, everything in your sidebar is overlaying on your photos, making them difficult to see the whole pic.
