Welcome to my friendly southern front porch!

Welcome to my brand new blog--featuring plenty of tidbits and photos of my Lowcountry adventures! There is so much to see and do here! So pour yourself a big frosty glass of southern SWEET TEA and come along as I visit interesting local places!

The photo above is another flaming Pawleys Island sunset, taken down @ the South end of the island. Its a wonderful place to put your lawn chair, read a good book, sip your sweet tea or an ice cold "Co-Cola", and watch the sun sink lower and lower. We have enjoyed many sunset picnics there as well.
The South end is just a magical place...the ocean waves are beautiful and the creek side is beautiful as well! We swim in the creek alot, as it is warm and shallow clear up through the Fall months, but you do have to watch out for the occasional jellyfish!
Pawleys is also a great place for bicycling, walking, and surfing. Its a much slower pace than the neon and bright lights of the Myrtle Beach area, and there are no high rise hotels or condos on the beach. May be one reason there are so many loggerhead turtle nests along the Pawleys dunes.
If you're looking for a slower change of pace, and a quieter beach experience, Pawleys is for you.
