kitchen garden

 Our little kitchen garden:

Baby watermelons!

And this is how they look 2 weeks later:

We have now transplanted them into the big garden so they can grow watermelons this summer!
Basil planted:
one week later...........it's up!

Our "maters" are doing great so far!
So are the peppers

Accidentally broke one of my favorite bowls.....it's okay....I just tucked it into the garden.

Above...some of the first summer's four 'o clock blooms, I love them so much!

Do any of you enjoy looking the seed catalogues?

I love to look at them.....so many colorful pretty flowers!

So many to decide from!

below, this is a little red bud tree a friend gave us. We hope to get it planted soon.

And below... we have one moonflower out of all the seeds we planted! LOL, hopefully there will be buds and blooms soon. It's twining around and up nicely.

Hope your week has been great. It's HOT HERE, but just about every day we have a late afternoon summer thundershower. We enjoy them, especially on the porch. We've been getting some BIG thunder and lightning though!

  1. your garden looks awesome, everything looks so healthy and is growing so beautifully!! i only planted flowers this year, no vegetables. my garden did not do well last year and when the water bill came chuck said it cost $ 500.00 for 2 tomatoes. now of course that is not true, we water everything but i kinda understood AND i am not able to help as much as i use to. i love seed catalogs, i think starting anything with seeds is so much more rewarding!! we have gotten a ton of rain this summer...and a lot of thunder and lightening too. i secretly love it!!

  2. You are a fantastic gardener! I love seeing all the little watermelons and tomatoes and peppers, etc. popping up! I am so happy for you to be living where you are and enjoying life on "the farm". I do not have your green thumb, but I am happy for the few little things that are growing here. Oh, so sad about your pretty bowl breaking, but what a great idea to put it in the garden. I guess that's what they call a "dish garden" for sure! LOL. Love it. Hope all is well with you and yours.
