rain

It's raining here this evening.

It has been dreary and rained all weekend. But the sound of the rain on the roof is SO PEACEFUL.

Fall has arrived but I'm still remembering all the humid summer rains:

Summer rains also brought us gorgeous rainbows!

and lots of mushrooms for the fairies! LOL

The last canna of the Summer:

Hope your weekend was nice and if you were in the path of that storm up North, Hope you're safe and warm.
So glad you stopped in to see me!

  1. Lovely rain photos and those mushrooms are so pretty! I know the fairies are loving them! Your Canna Lily is really beautiful!!! We had a beautiful sunny cool day yesterday and today is supposed to be the same, and so is the whole week. I hope it will be that way in the mountains of GA when we get there! We really didn't get that much rain as was predicted. Our pond is still too dry in most places. I will miss seeing the Canadian Geese swimming on it this fall and winter. I hope you have a lovely week!!!!

  2. Oh, I LOVE your South Ca'lina rain!! I love the LUSSSHH of it, and the shine it brings to the leaves, and the depth of the grass and I'll bet you have a scrumptious FIGGY PUDDING for Thanksgiving, from those grandiose leaves.

We've not had a drop in a couple of weeks, but our lawn is still October green, to differentiate from the distinct goldness brought by the slant of the sun across the Halloween lawn.

And I hope some of your rain-music has been enjoyed on a screened porch, with the little drops slinging silver in square after square, as they accumulate enough weight to write long lower-case 'L's and distinct 'I's down the wires.

Accoutrements would be a fragrant, frayed-a-bit quilt, a porch swang and a good book that you don't mind getting a drop or two on. You know I love your photography---and my very greatest love of the small marvels is when you BEND LOW. Simply magic.

Getting ready for a visit from Texas Sis this weekend---they're in Maine, and I hope they have good traveling weather. And you bright sunshine and glorious leafage.
