dirt road time

Well, I wrote this Dirt Road Adventure a couple of months ago, and forgot/missed it/didn't post it.

So I will still go ahead and post it today.

After church on a spring day.

Well, give me a few minutes to get out of my Sunday Best.....and let's go take a walk-about.

We take a daily walk-about, checking things out and see what's growing and what needs tending.

First, lets say hi to the lovely ladies at the Coop:

They love attention and are always glad to see us!

Today we've brought watermelon, so they are very excited!

Rose getting snuggled by me:

Lets gather some fresh eggs!

Because of them, we have these:

and we sure LOVE THESE! LOL

a tired angel leaning

Lots of petunias in bloom:

Taking used coffee grounds out to feed my roses. They sure love it

This bush has over a dozen blooms on it all at once, so I am thrilled with it!

interesting algae things growing on bark

The baby chicks are hungry too, let's go feed and water them. I take them treats too, they are like little raptors! They are getting big so fast! The black and white ones are the friendliest. Here's a few of them:
the Tater Field:

Howdy!

the cannas are getting big! I'm looking forward to big red blooms. This is their third year, so they'll do even better this summer.

Time to feed and water the baby Keets. They are still doing great. They sure put the food away! They eat alot more than I expected, since they are so tiny! They have the sweetest little sing-song voices, love to hear them chirping and singing!

Mr. Front Porch discovered huge blackberry patches a few days ago! Getting lots and lots of bowls!

here's a patch of the berries while they are still red, and not purple yet

Little baby watermelons! So tiny, so cute! We will probably get these in the ground this weekend.

and our maters are doing well and have tiny babies on them. Fried green maters......can't wait!

the tater patch

and the squash and beans are doing great so far. That tiny squash is Tansy size! LOL

this is a four 'o clock flower that came up smack dab in the middle of the tater patch! LOL

We have a visitor this week:

Actually, there are two.

The pictures are not very good, but the cheery yellow bird is BEAUTIFUL! Such a splash of sunshine!

Well, that was a fun look back at summer! Those baby chicks are now full grown teenagers, and laying lots of eggs.

The "maters" and "taters", beans, and squash have all been dug up, picked, cooked and eaten.....or processed to eat this Winter.

The baby keets Guineas, are now full grown and big and pretty. And so noisy! They are fun birds.

The four o clocks, roses, and petunias are still in full bloom. So are the mandevilla and moonflowers, and white daylilies.

Those tiny baby watermelons totally surprised us and we grew a small field of them. It was our first year for watermelons, so that was surprising and fun. The guineas and chickens enjoyed fresh watermelons on lots of hot summer days, I put it in the icebox for them.

Happy Weekend, enjoy Fall, and still praying for the victims of the awful hurricanes.

What is your favorite part of Fall?
