I still want to go back for a visit. That is something I miss about living in an old home. Many newer windows do not offer the deep window sills. I wonder if the blue and white piece is from a transferware item. I looked up the name and see that The Burroughs & Montford Co. was in New Jersey. How fun to research an old piece! Take care. Judging by the precise transfer I would say that it is not all that old, maybe the 1920s. Strangely the less perfect the transfer process the more valuable these things are. You might have heard of flow blue? It's when the transfer blurs into the background. Now days they've perfected the transfer process so well, that it has lost all of its charm.

Hugs
Jane Janehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01851312702044308420noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3926263351972017306.post-23111050511223511892017-03-29T07:49:50.327-04:002017-03-29T07:49:50.327-04:00Good MORNING!!

The rows of cobalts and the glint of silver and steel, or a prism sparkling the room---it's lovely to imagine the life lived within those colourful walls.

Your tile seems to be a long-ago pharmaceuticals ad, with a little banner charmingly announcing "APOTHEEK" above the door. I thought it might be Burroughs-Welcome, and see that there's one for sale on etsy.

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/386183736775926142/

Happy Day, way over there!

r

RachelDhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11204947567574886675noreply@blogger.com
